Jealous Groom Ruins Wedding by Attacking Groomsman

wedding cakeIt's hard to speculate where a bride and groom will be, relationship-wise, 5 to 10 years down the road on their wedding day, because everybody always looks so happy and everything always feels so perfect. That is, unless your wedding ends with the groom getting punched in the face by a police officer after starting a fight with a groomsman for dancing with his new bride.

Des Moines resident Jake Twombly "seemed very intoxicated" when he spotted his fresh-out-the-oven bride Khamla enjoying a friendly dance with one of the groomsmen, Travis Cullen. Fueled by an alcohol-induced rage Upset at the sight, he ran over to Cullen and pushed him so hard that he knocked over a ceramic column into an off-duty police officer.

Call me a pessimist, but I think that's a red flag for Khalma.

After Twombly knocked the police officer down, he tried to punch him numerous times, resulting in the cop calling for backup and Twombly being arrested for disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, interference with official acts, and two counts of assaulting a police officer. Sounds like everything every little girl dreams about.

To me, jealousy and possessiveness are two of the most unattractive traits a guy (or girl!) can have, but I get it, it happens sometimes. We're only human. But to act that way on your wedding day? Dude, the white dress and lilies of the valley and Jordan almonds should be an indication that she's into you. I mean, sheesh bo beesh, at least save that behavior for your honeymoon when the 22-year-old windsurfing instructor with Jesus abs is making eyes at your woman. A groomsman?

Needless to say, I think Khalma and Jake's relationship is doomed. Clearly, Jake can't handle his wife interacting with males in any capacity, in addition to his liquor. If he got that upset over one of his close friends (they must be close if he's a groomsman, right?) having a totally innocuous dance with his new bride, I don't think he'll be able to handle much else. And if there's one thing I know about relationships with certainty, it's that that kind of behavior will get real old, real fast to Khalma.

They say that rain is good luck on your wedding day, but I don't think the same applies to a fistfight and subsequent arrest. Godspeed, guys.

Are you turned off by jealousy?
