Don't Hate Madonna for Living Your Dream

MadonnaSurprise, surprise! Madonna's got a man problem again. But hold your sympathies, ladies. In traditional Madge style, she's come out on the other side smelling like a rose. That's the material girl we all knew and strutted around like when we were kids!

Baby brother Christopher Ciccone was getting catty with Radar this week, calling the latest 24-year-old in Madonna's string of boys "creepy," explaining French dancer Brahim Zaibat is the son of a woman eight years younger than Madonna herself. Sounds like baby brother finally realized it was big sis who was touched for the very first time in "Like a Virgin." Shudder. I'd be feeling like someone peed in my corn flakes if I had to think of my sibling in the sack too.

But the lesser known Ciccone has a case of awful timing (I know, story of his life). This week The Stir got a press release from the folks at that gives Madonna the edge.

It turns out Match's sister site,, the online dating site for boomers ages 50 and up, surveyed its members about the cougar trend, citing celebs like Demi Moore, Mariah Carey, and Madonna herself. According to the results, a whopping 94 percent of women are "itching to date a younger man" (their words, not mine). Even more damning for catty Christopher: 71 percent already have dipped below their age bracket, and nearly 96 percent of them said they would like to again. The 52-year-old Madonna fits right in with her peers, and she's living their dreams.

It might strike Christopher as vaguely Oedipal to see women getting it on with men who could be their sons, but it doesn't look like he's going to get much sympathy from that crowd. And if 24-year-old men are getting a chance to pal around with one of the richest and most famous women in the world, he's certainly not going to be hearing a round of applause from their set either. Which leaves the 20-something women. Who are relieved to have a bunch of immature guys off their backs so they can focus on everything else.

It sounds like Christopher Ciccone is alone on this one. What do you think: creepy or perfectly legal and thus perfectly cool?
