If we weren't shocked enough about the recent split of Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter, now Julia Stiles is getting thrown into the mix. Stiles recently guest-starred on an episode of Showtime's Dexter, which is where the rumors started flying.
Oh c'mon, it's just a TV show people. Stiles has denied that she had a hand in breaking up the marriage. Carpenter filed divorce papers citing irreconcilable differences -- and is also seeking spousal support. And let's be serious -- Stiles has been in some much better on-screen pairings.
1. Heath Ledger in 10 Things I Hate About You: In this take on William Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew, Stiles plays Kat, the object of the late Ledger's desire. Although her character may be a bit awkward and female emo-punk obsessed, she and Heath have such intense sexual chemistry that makes this one of my favorite flicks ever.
2. Sean Patrick Thomas in Save the Last Dance: Alright, let's be honest: Sean Patrick Thomas is a serious heartthrob. Watching the two of them dance, fueled by the intensity of their interracial relationship, makes for an intense romantic drama that never gets old. They're a couple I never would have predicted, but I think that's where the appeal comes from. Did I mention how dreamy he is?
3. Freddie Prinze Jr. in Down to You: The attraction between Stiles and Prinze when they meet at New York University is so stereotypical college that it's hard to hate on. Whatever happened to Freddie Prinze anyway? Oh gosh, bring me back to She's All That.
4. Jason Lee in A Guy Thing: When Lee wakes up the morning after his bachelor party and finds Stiles next to him in bed, he's convinced he had a one-night stand. The storyline may not exactly be rocket science, but the flirtation between the two is undeniable as he tries to cover up his "mistakes" a week before the wedding.
Do you think Julia Stiles is a home-wrecker?
