It's a bad week for Bachelors and Bachelorettes. First Jake and Vienna (though I saw that coming) and now Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski break up. Sigh. Can't anyone find love on a reality show? If they can't make it, how can the rest of us?
Oh woe is me ... drama, drama, drama.
Check out what Ed had to say on the split:
"We're both kind of resetting. Jillian isn't happy and I'm definitely sad about the whole thing, but we've got to work through some things on our own if we decide to move forward."
"Kind of resetting"? What the heck does that mean, Ed? A bit wishy-washy for my tastes. All this after Jillian looked past Ed's rumored infidelities, complete with text messages from other supposed lady loves, but now -- almost a year later -- they are calling off the engagement?
Jillian shared her thoughts ....
"I love him and I'm really sad, but I have to look out for me," Harris said.
The last part of that sentence is heavy -- "have to look out for me." I'm going to bet that Ed wasn't the man he seemed to be ... or maybe he just really wanted to be a good man, but couldn't.
All of this makes me nervous for Ali. I loooooved Ed for Jillian on that season of The Bachelorette. From the start. And now I loooooove Frank for Ali ... in the same kind of way. Both guys seem down to earth, are handsome without being too flashy, and were the sensitive types who still love you even though you have an annoying cat that sheds and wants to sit on your lap all the time. You know, that kind of guy. A keeper.
And if you saw the teaser for upcoming episodes of The Bachelorette, something is amiss with Frank -- there's even some mystery brunette that Frank is seen with. Is Frank the new Ed? Is this a sign it will all end without Ali finding love? Sniff. Perhaps.
Or perhaps reality shows aren't really the best way to go to find a husband.
What do you think of the Jillian and Ed split? Did you see it coming?
