"I was sexually active. I was not sexually deviant." It's ridiculous that a woman would have to say this on national TV. It's insulting to know that we'll probably never hear a man say this. But in a atrocious interview with Amanda Knox, CNN's Chris Cuomo took it there. He claims he was just being a journalist asking questions America wants to know. Maybe he should have just stayed home and read 50 Shades of Grey instead.

In her memoir, Waiting to Be Heard, Knox shares that she was exploring her sexuality while in Italy, like a lot of women her age do. But because she's young, female, and attractive, sex has been THE topic through her entire ordeal. And that's where the case went -- the Italian prosecution painted her as a sexual deviant who was playing some kinky game with Meredith Kercher. Man, is Cuomo ever turned on by that idea. It's all he wants to talk about, even after Knox flatly denies that she wasn't into kinky stuff.

We've got some pretty messed up ideas about virginity in this country, but wow, our passive-aggressive ideas and messages about sex are nothing like Egypt's. An Egyptian woman has reportedly been ordered to pay her former husband £5240 ($7,500) in "damages" after he discovered that she lied about being a virgin. Yes, this actually went to COURT!

The court ruled that the woman had not informed her husband that she had lost her virginity prior to them getting married and had even undergone surgery to hide the fact that she no longer held her V-card. And as a result, the HUSBAND claims he was "emotionally damaged" by the phony virginity tale. He said that as a result of the deception, he was "suffering from depression and had lost trust in the people around him." WOW ... can you even imagine?

Time has announced its 2013 list of the 100 most influential people. And guess who's on the list? A lot of women -- women who are having a profound impact on motherhood as we know it. Not all of these women are mothers, either. But we feel their influence. Here are just 12 we think are especially meaningful for moms.

Just when we thought it might be safe to say Republicans learned in last year's election not to underestimate the power of 50 percent of their constituents, aka WOMEN, here comes New Hampshire state Rep. Peter Hansen, referring to women as "vaginas." Yes, like a petulant, pre-pubescent boy.

After a colleague gave a speech on a "stand your ground" gun bill, Hansen had the following to say via email ...

When you get married, you vow to love that person in sickness and health, for better or worse, until death do you part. On a wedding day, those vows may feel easy to say to the man in the tux standing in front of you. He's young and hot and sexy (and so are you) and those big problems are still (god willing) a long way off. But they come. Trust me, they come.

Over the course of a lifetime together, a couple will encounter many things. A large number of them will be happy -- births of babies, huge promotions, anniversary trips -- but they won't all be so. Some will be hard. If you stay together, you will encounter parental issues, illness, and death. You will encounter job strain and even financial strain. Your marriage will encounter rough waters.

But those rough waters can (and should!) make you stronger as a couple. Here are 6 problems many marriages encounter that can actually be blessings in disguise. See below:

Politicians in Florida are currently debating whether or not to pass the Infants Born Alive Act, which would require that physicians give medical attention to children born alive after a botched abortion.

Since Planned Parenthood has a dog in the abortion fight, they sent along Alisa Laport Snow, a lobbyist representing the Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates, to testify on behalf of the organization. Ms. Snow stated several times that they believe that the decision to end the life of a child born alive should be left to the woman, her family, and her physician.

Prepare to have your brain hurt, because conservadouche Rush Limbaugh has opened his ridiculous mouth again. And it's not pretty. Or smart. Or enriching to society. It's just plain idiotic and completely nonsensical. In what seems to be a completely lame attempt to stay current and relevant, he recently commented on Beyonce's new single, "Bow Down/I Been On." And -- get this -- he seems to be under the impression that it's an anti-feminist anthem! BHAHAHAHA.

No, really. Citing a story in The Telegraph, Limbaugh claimed that, rather than standing up for women's independence, Beyonce is encouraging women to be subservient to their spouses. "Bow Down," according to Rush, is telling women to "put up with it." And "she married the rich guy. She now understands it's worth it to bow down to men." Are. You. Kidding. Me. Cuz that's hilaaarious!

I have to wonder: Was the guy was having a senior moment?

If you followed the Steubenville rape trial, you know that the victim "Jane Doe" was shunned in her hometown and received death threats on the Internet from her peers. In other words, her decision to come forward and name Trent Mays and Ma'lik Richmond as her rapists came at a very high cost. Even the media took a bizarre turn when the convictions were announced, with reporters expressing sympathy for the teen boys. Boys who were not only found guilty of digitally raping Jane Doe while she was passed out, but who also took photos and videos of her and shared them, which led to other students, sickeningly, joking about it too.

But despite the depressing and disgusting behavior of a few, there are many, MANY others who support this girl. And what she’s doing with that support is nothing less than inspiring.

"I wish we could all just put down our picket signs and talk to each other." That's the plea of one woman who bravely told the story of her abortion. To mark the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, CNN's iReport invited women to tell their abortion stories. What resulted was a flood of devastatingly emotional and complicated personal stories.

"Right" or "wrong," abortion is something women do. And however you feel about abortion, you cannot walk away from these stories without feeling the profound impact it's had on these women's lives. What looms larger than what led to their decisions is what happens after, whether it's torment, regret, relief, or redemption. We've found four videos with different perspectives. All four of these stories gave me chills. Take a look -- and maybe share with a friend or family member.
