Of all the ways to deal with teenage rebellion, I think the best I've heard so far is President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama's strategy, revealed on the Today show this morning:

"What we’ve said to the girls is, 'If you guys ever decided you’re going to get a tattoo, then mommy and me will get the exact same tattoo in the same place. And we’ll go on YouTube and show it off as a family tattoo.' And our thinking is that might dissuade them from thinking that somehow that’s a good way to rebel."

Brilliant! Every teen's worst fear is being embarrassed, especially by his or her parents (my daughter's almost 12 and already I'm getting the panicked tugs on my sleeve and death glare when she thinks I'm about to say something reputation-damaging in front of her friends). The Obamas' genius idea got us thinking ... what other forms of teenage rebellion could potentially be curbed by the threat of parental humiliation?

Ooooh I had to laugh when I read about Michelle Obama's little slip-up during an interview, when she called herself a "busy single mother." Does the President know?! Ha. Also -- Michelle? I know what you mean!

The First Lady was talking to CBS about the challenges of eating healthy for families when she made the flub:

Running the U.S.A. is serious business, but that doesn't mean presidents can't have a little fun. Or occasionally be seen as more than just the Commander-in-Chief, Chief Executive, or leader of the free world. And by more I mean being seen as ... sexy! Entertainment Tonight believes the term applies to President Obama, and when they had First Lady Michelle Obama on the show last night, they couldn't help but get her take on that description. Specifically, they asked what it's like to be married to a "sex symbol." Ha! (Well, they aren't exactly known for their hard-hitting journalism, right ...)

FLOTUS' response was, in a word, classic!

The White House will host its annual Easter Egg Roll on Monday April 1 this year. More than 35,000 people will join the First Family on the South Lawn for “games, stories, and, of course, the traditional egg roll.”

Also, because we apparently can’t just let kids have fun anymore, the day’s activities will include sports courts and cooking demonstrations in accordance with Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! campaign. Nothing says “Happy Easter” like educating families on “smart ways to incorporate healthy eating and exercise choices into their daily routines.”

The chatter about Hillary Clinton running for president in 2016 just won't die down. And now, the rumor has seemingly undergone an entirely new transformation: Some are saying she may land on a dream ticket with current FLOTUS Michelle Obama. Whaaaa?! Says who!?

Technically, the buzz stems from bumper stickers random people have made on CafePress and a quote from former Clinton spokeswoman Karen Finney, who told the Washington Examiner, "Both women are proven effective leaders who've raise children, so dealing with Congress would be a snap!" True, true! Seems to be more wishful thinking than something that could actually happen, but it sure would be amazing if it did! Here, six reasons why the two powerful and brilliant moms have what it takes to get 'er done in D.C. ...

Conservative blogger Michelle Malkin has a bone to pick with First Lady Michelle Obama. No, it has nothing to do with public policy, the "Let's Move" campaign, or ripping her for appearing on the Oscars alongside members of the military. Apparently, Malkin took issue with the FLOTUS appearing on Jimmy Fallon and doing the hilarious "Evolution of Mom Dancing" viral video. Or, at the very least, Malkin thought it presented the perfect opportunity to take ridiculous jabs at what she sees as "wallet-grabbing," "debt ceiling-raising" liberals. I guess because Michelle Obama must not be the First Lady of the United States -- just the First Lady of the blue ones, as far as the right is concerned? So anything she does -- no matter how benign or fun-loving -- must be fair game for a polarizing political assault.

The assault comes in the form of Malkin's own dancing video, which is simply cringe-worthy. (Brace yourself.)

Here we go again! Last month, it was the eye-roll seen 'round the world. This month, First Lady Michelle Obama's offense is appearing on the Oscars Sunday night and, worst of all, appearing with military members! Gasp! How horrible! What on earth was the FLOTUS thinking using members of the military as “background,” “decoration,” and even “human wallpaper,” outraged Twitter users squawked! 

Here's a wake-up call: She wasn't doing any such thing. In reality -- AKA the whole, wide world outside of the FOX News-y bubble -- Mrs. Obama happened to be multi-tasking that night, and besides presenting the award for Best Picture, she was also hosting the black tie 2013 Governors' Dinner at the White House. At which there were military members present. Who happened to be behind the First Lady. What's the big deal?

An Iranian news outlet is unhappy with Michelle Obama's Oscars appearance, but unlike me, they're not questioning why she was there in the first place, and are instead displeased with her dress. FLOTUS wore a gorgeous silver Naeem Khan design Sunday night, but when pictures reached the Muslim masses, Michelle Obama's image had been altered.
