A mother has been arrested and charged with doing the unthinkable -- she allegedly shot her 9-year-old boy five times while he lay peacefully sleeping in bed. She then turned the gun on herself, but she survived and is in the hospital. Lisa Marie Lesyshen of Colorado reportedly confessed to the killing. And you won't believe the "reason" she gave for doing it. She also reportedly left a note on her son's bed that said, "Remember you are responsible for what has happened here and you are the person that caused it." She then signed it with her name and the name of her son, Asher. The note was directed to her husband, the boy's father.

An Ohio teenager is back home after a harrowing kidnapping that took her across state lines all the way to Virginia's Virginia Beach. The teen told police she was abducted by a man she knew, a man she went with willingly! Only it turns out the man, Edwin Rosario, is a registered sex offender.

Not surprisingly, her family didn't know that. They only knew Edwin Rosario as a music teacher at their church.

Authorities are saying it's one of the worst attacks in state history, and after you hear the stomach-churning details, you'll find it hard to imagine anything worse. Twenty-four-year-old Jerry Andrew Active has been charged with breaking into an Anchorage, Alaska home and sexually assaulting a 2-year-old and her great-grandmother who was babysitting her. He then allegedly murdered the great-grandmother and her husband in the home, then took a seat on their couch.

Active was reportedly found in his boxer shorts relaxing in the home when the 2-year-old's parents returned from taking their 5-year-old son to the movies. He is said to have fled as soon as he heard the family come home, but the dad (the child's father and the grandson-in-law of the victims) chased after him and while his wife (the child's mom) called the cops.

When the FBI raided a huge child pornography service last year, they had to make a tough choice. Should the government agency shut down the site or should they leave it open and run a sting, hopefully luring in child predators who they could then prosecute to the fullest extent of the law? They chose the latter. For two full weeks, the FBI was essentially peddling child porn to the masses.

If you saw this on the highway, you'd call it in, too, right? Motorists on the Pennsylvania Turnpike Monday night say they saw a 10-year-old girl in a dog cage riding on the back of a pickup truck. It's not how we usually transport our children, to say the least. But rather than just drive by thinking, "What the -- oh well, none of my business," motorists called police with a description and license plate number.

And that's how police were able to track down the girl's mother, Abbey Carlson, and her stepfather, Thomas Fishinger. They've been charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Apparently they'd been on their way home from Thomas' mother's house last night. And they had an explanation for why the girl was riding in a dog cage in the back of a pickup. But does it even matter?

Whenever religion and the justice system tangle, you can expect things to get pretty hairy. Now that a couple of parents who practice "faith-healing" have been charged with murder, you can expect sparks will fly. But from the sounds of it, Catherine and Herbert Schaible did exactly that to their 7-month-old baby.

Baby Brandon died April 18 from dehydration and bacterial pneumonia. Cops say when the little boy began showing symptoms of illness several days before his death, his parents decided to pray for him instead of calling a doctor.

A man caught molesting a girl on camera was allowed to go free. Surveillance video from a Disney cruise ship caught crew member Milton Braganza following an 11-year-old girl into an elevator and hovering close by her for a few moments. You can't tell what exactly he's doing, but it definitely looks creepy. The girl, with her grandmother, accused Braganza of fondling her breasts and forcibly kissing her. What a terrifying incident for a young girl!

Braganza eventually confessed to molesting the girl, but there were no charges. Instead, after an investigation by Bahamian police, Disney paid to fly him home. We can only hope they also fired him. But the reason why he wasn't arrested sure looks shady.

A convicted pedophile and suspected abductor has been found dead. Ready to cheer? Hold your applause. Because before Michael James Klunder was discovered, cops say he kidnapped two girls. A 12-year-old escaped, but 15-year-old Kathlynn Shepard is still missing. With Klunder's death, the cops have little to go on to find the missing girl. 

Sadly, that's just the beginning of the tragedies surrounding the 42-year-old's mysterious death.
