We've had more than a few "tried to sell the kid on Craigslist" stories floating around the Internet in recent years. Way too many, if you ask me. But there's something about the latest mom charged with trying to adopt out her 3-year-old son via a Craigslist ad that's a bit unusual.

The mom, Stephanie Redus, doesn't sound like your typical jerk mom who would use Craigslist to offload a kid because she doesn't care. I can't get truly enraged at her. If anything, I read the Texas mom's story and I felt ... pity.

Finally some good news in the ongoing war against child pornography. Photos of an alleged child porn producer known only as John Doe were released by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations department earlier this month in a plea for the public to help nab a man abusing a little girl. And they've caught him! John Doe has been arrested thanks to tips from the public!

Well ... and thanks to his own stupidity. The dude actually showed his face on an alleged child porn film! Thank goodness.

Good prevails! Evil has been extinguished!

When four horrifying videos, featuring a middle-aged man sexually assaulting a young girl believed to be between 7 and 9 years old, hit the Internet on May 2, Danish police who discovered the clips contacted U.S. authorities. They knew the videos were taken in April, but they couldn't be sure in what country they were filmed. Until they spotted a seemingly innocuous detail in the background: A pretzel bag!

Authorities say they believe the acts were committed here in the States, because a Frito-Lay Rold Gold bag of thin pretzels appears in the videos, and that particular packaging is made only in the U.S. Canada's pretzels have different packaging and French language descriptions. Crazy, huh?

Oh for the love of Mike. Ariel Castro, alleged kidnapper and all around sicko (allegedly), is upset, y'all! Set to plead not guilty, he can't believe that American thinks he's a monster. In fact, he wants us all to know that he loves his daughter dearly. Wait. Isn't this the daughter delivered by kidnapping victim Amanda Berry during her nearly 10-year ordeal, locked up in a house in Cleveland, Ohio, with two other women who were also being held against their will?

Yup, that's the one! The way Castro's lawyer, Craig Weintraub, tells it, we should all be ashamed of ourselves for demonizing his client. And fellow attorney Jaye Schlachet went even further!

If you've been following the sad story of Lana Leigh Bailey, the 18-month-old baby who went missing in Kansas last week, the news you least wanted to hear is in. Cops have found a baby's body, and they think it's the missing Kansas girl. Considering police had already charged 27-year-old Kyle Flack with killing Lana as well as her mother and two other adults, it was only a matter of time.

The discovery means the case can move forward in court.

Usually alimony claims are pretty cut and dried. A judge said you have to pay, so you have to pay. But a California mom fighting for the right not to pay her ex-husband spousal support has one heckuva case. Carol Abar divorced Ed Abar because he'd been raping her daughter, his stepdaughter, since the girl was just 9 years old.

Can you blame her for not wanting to send him a check every month? It's like handing him an award for abusing her child.

A 21-year-old mother in Florida has just admitted that she killed her toddler by smashing her head into a wall. Chelsea Huggett has been arrested and charged with murder and child abuse in the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Aliyah Marie Branum. Stomach not turned enough yet? How's this: Huggett is also currently eight months pregnant.

Remember the quote from Shrek about ogres and onions? Both have layers that make them complex. And so it is with Charles Francis Gaskins, the white supremacist sentenced this week to life in prison for murdering a child molester.

On the outside layer -- the most superficial there is -- the story sounds almost like a celebration. Neil Hayes was a bad, bad man, and we have one less child molester on the streets! It's tempting to say that this man did a public service!
