At California’s Republican Party convention, someone tweeted a photo of derogatory buttons mocking Hillary Clinton. They were reportedly spotted outside a VIP reception area and were later found to be removed. Thank goodness, because they were classless.

The buttons read, “KFC HILLARY SPECIAL” at top, and “2 Fat Thighs 2 Small Breasts ... Left Wing” underneath. So not cool -- and I say that as a rightwing chick with no real love for Ms. Clinton.

Today news came that a racy, never-before-heard sex tape Monica Lewinsky made for Bill Clinton has surfaced after all these years. Apparently the National Enquirer got a hold of the audio recording (thank goodness there were no iPhones then!) in which Lewinsky attempts to convince the President to meet her for a quickie or whatever he wants.

Back when the scandal broke it was thought the tape, which was allegedly made months after their final alleged tryst in March 1997, had been destroyed, but according to the Enquirer a cleaner didn't destroy it, and so now here it is ... in all its explicit glory.  In it you reportedly can only hear Lewinsky's voice. “I could take my clothes off and start … I hope to see you later and I hope you will follow my script and do what I want," she says, according to a written excerpt published by Radar Online. Then she goes on ... and on.

It's one thing for Democrats to be blowing the whistle on Republicans' "racist," "old-fashioned" politics, but you know it's time for a makeover when members of your own party are fed up! It's been a long time coming, but finally, young conservatives are speaking out about how the party is seen -- and it's not pretty.

A 95-page report by college Republicans, based on a pair of 800-subject surveys and six ethnically and economically diverse focus groups, describes a "dismal present situation" for the GOP. Those surveyed called the party "closed-minded, racist, rigid," and "old-fashioned." And that's just the tip of the damning iceberg!

Even before he stepped into the spotlight during Hurricane Sandy and made headlines for -- gasp! -- befriending President Obama, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has been buzzed about as a potential presidential contender for the Republican ticket in 2016. Given the magnitude of buzz, it's hard not to envision Christie vs. Hillary Clinton when thinking about who may be running three years from now. But many have been clucking for a while now that there's no way Christie can become POTUS, given his own "magnitude."

Enter a possible gamechanger and proof he's totally in it to win the White House: He secretly underwent lap-band stomach surgery, the governor revealed to The New York Post last night. He says he did it at the urging of family and friends after his 50th birthday last September. In other words, he's not saying trying to lose weight has anything to do with a presidential campaign, but pfft, come on!

Imagine you're considered to be a top contender for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016.

Now imagine your own mother is telling the world she really doesn't think you should run.

That's exactly what just happened to Jeb Bush. In a Today show interview Thursday, Barbara Bush said that although she believes Jeb is the most qualified candidate, "We've had enough Bushes."

    Do you agree with her?

There's no doubt that Hillary Clinton is a popular figure among Democratic women. Her approval rating is even higher than the president's.

But I also noticed something interesting when Condoleezza Rice spoke at the Republican National Convention last summer--

My Facebook newsfeed lit up with emotional accolades from my Republican and independent friends, who were enamored by Rice's speech and her poise.

This leads me to believe that 2016 could give us an awesome and historic presidential candidate match-up: Hillary Clinton vs. Condoleezza Rice.

And I'm not the only one hoping it'll happen.
