9-Year-Old Boy Dies Defending 11-Year-Old Sister From Sexual Assault (VIDEO)

This is an incredibly sad story. A little boy was killed, all because he tried to save his sister. A 9-year-old boy was reportedly playing with his 11-year-old sister near some train tracks in their backyard when a teen boy came out of the woods and attacked the sister. The little boy, doing what any brother would do, tried to save her. And he paid with his life.

It happened in Richmond, Virginia. The siblings were playing outside early, around 6:30 p.m. It's a small town and no one thinks that their kids can't play in their own backyard. It's the kind of thing I grew up doing -- playing without direct parental supervision in my neighborhood, near my house, with my sibling.

But this time a teen boy suddenly came out of nowhere and sexually assaulted the girl. The little boy tried to fight him off. And reportedly the teen then hit the boy on the head with a brick, killing him.

The little girl then ran out of the woods, naked and bleeding, and police were called. The little boy died before he could get help.

Ugh, such a horrible, horrible story. I can't imagine the fear that this little boy had, combined with the desire to stop this from happening to his sister. He didn't even think to run off and get help, leaving his sister with a monster. He only wanted to help her.

And that poor little girl. Not only being sexually assaulted but seeing her brother die, the brother trying to defend her. These poor children are far too young to have to deal with this kind of inhumanity.

This just totally disgusts me. The teen suspect is in custody.

Do incidents like this make you worry about letting your kids play outside?
