Baby Falls From Window Right as Couple With Mattress Happens to Walk By

windowsSome things are just meant to be. And the 3-year-old toddler who fell out of a third-story window is just that: Meant to be. A husband and wife who were moving from one apartment to another happened to see the child playing near an unsecured window when they were walking down an alley, and they yelled to him to stop. The boy was apparently throwing stuffed toys out of the window, and instead of listening to the adults who were trying to protect him, he proceeded to climb out the window after one of his toys.

But whaddya know? The couple happened to have a mattress on them at the time. What are the odds?

The couple immediately placed the mattress down on the ground, anticipating the baby's fall. But instead of toppling out of the window straight onto the concrete, the child's fall was halted after he got tangled up in some phone lines, so the man was able to actually catch the boy while the woman called 911. No mattress needed, but hey, talk about a good back-up plan. The child was reportedly treated for very minor injuries, thanks to the couple who fortuitously happened to be in the right place at the right time -- with a mattress no less!

It's terrifying that a child so young was playing by an open window unsupervised for an extended period of time, and that perfect strangers had to be the ones to tell him to stop. But if I had to guess, I'd say this little one has someone watching over him. I mean, man. To have two adults with a fluffy landing pad exactly when you need it is just crazy.

What do you think of this? Do you think the parents of this little boy should be arrested?

Makes you wonder why the parents weren't watching him. Could've ended in tragedy.

I live in some apartments that have these wooden balconies on the upstairs ones and some are in need of repair, like missing some of the fencing part. I had a similar occurance where I saw two children, one was school age the other a toddler and the school age child had squeezed thru and was just hanging on the outside part of their balcony. It scared me to death and I yelled at him to get back onto his balcony or I would come up there and tell whoever was supposed to be watching them. I could just see in my mind how in a flash it could turn out very wrong especially when there is a concrete sidewalk right below them.  And no one was really watching either child, they had their sliding door open and no one even came to check when I was calling to the kids to get back inside their balcony.

I had actually fallen out of a 3rd story window when I was about 2, thankfully I landed on the second story balcony only suffering a broken collar bone. My mother had left my twin and I with someone while she went some where and I climbed on the base board heater and fell out the window. We ended up being raised from about 3 by our grandma thankfully!
