Some things are just meant to be. And the 3-year-old toddler who fell out of a third-story window is just that: Meant to be. A husband and wife who were moving from one apartment to another happened to see the child playing near an unsecured window when they were walking down an alley, and they yelled to him to stop. The boy was apparently throwing stuffed toys out of the window, and instead of listening to the adults who were trying to protect him, he proceeded to climb out the window after one of his toys.
But whaddya know? The couple happened to have a mattress on them at the time. What are the odds?
The couple immediately placed the mattress down on the ground, anticipating the baby's fall. But instead of toppling out of the window straight onto the concrete, the child's fall was halted after he got tangled up in some phone lines, so the man was able to actually catch the boy while the woman called 911. No mattress needed, but hey, talk about a good back-up plan. The child was reportedly treated for very minor injuries, thanks to the couple who fortuitously happened to be in the right place at the right time -- with a mattress no less!
It's terrifying that a child so young was playing by an open window unsupervised for an extended period of time, and that perfect strangers had to be the ones to tell him to stop. But if I had to guess, I'd say this little one has someone watching over him. I mean, man. To have two adults with a fluffy landing pad exactly when you need it is just crazy.
What do you think of this? Do you think the parents of this little boy should be arrested?
