Oscar Pistorius' Extreme Reaction to Autopsy Photos Is a Positive Sign

oscar pistoriusToday during Oscar Pistorius' murder trial, autopsy photos of his former girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, were released. The pictures were reportedly so graphic that all tweeting and reporting were banned during that portion. However, we've since found out that after a pathologist showed photos of Steenkamp to the court, Pistorius vomited.

Pistorius' intense reaction immediately prompted court to be adjourned. Judge Thokozile Masipa asked Pistorius' lawyer, Barry Roux, to "just attend to the accused -- not sure what's happening." This also isn't the first time Pistorius has gagged in court.

Many people have been on the fence with Pistorius, but the majority are not buying his distraught routine. Since his girlfriend's death, Pistorius has maintained that he is completely heartbroken over the ordeal, and that it was nothing more than a very unfortunate accident. He's teared up; looked solemn; and appeared to be completely crestfallen in court -- all things that can easily be faked. But I have to say: It's damn near impossible to make one's self vomit on command. That's a really powerful reaction.

On one hand, his getting sick in court sort of makes it seem like maybe this was an accident after all, and his routine isn't, well, a routine. And on the other, if he did in fact intentionally kill Steenkamp, perhaps the photos have forced him to realize exactly what he did, and how much pain he caused. In a weird way, his intense reaction was strangely a good thing.

Only time will tell Oscar's fate, but in the mean time, all we can hope is that somehow, some way, Reeva Steenkamp's family will get the closure they very much deserve.

Do you think Oscar Pistorius is guilty?
