No Partridge Family jokes now. It's no laughing matter that the former child star and heartthrob David Cassidy has been arrested on his third drunk driving charge -- his second in six months. His problem seems to be getting worse. Cassidy blew a .10 last August in New York, where the legal limit is .08. During last night's stop after cops pulled him over for an illegal right turn on red, he blew a .19, almost twice the legal limit in California.
Cassidy was alone in his rented car when cops stopped him near LAX, and put him through the sobriety test after they smelled alcohol in the car.
Just to look at his mugshot from last August (above) you can tell things aren't going very well for the 63-year-old actor. His only recent acting gigs have been on Celebrity Apprentice in 2011 and a stint on CSI last February playing a veteran poker player who was desperately trying to hold on to his fading youth, including Botox to help him with his "poker face" at the table.
Cassidy pled no contest to his first arrest in February 2011, and was sentenced to a year's probation and loss of his license for the second conviction, as well as a fine, community service and DUI school.
He was released from jail on the current arrest on a $15,000 bond. Get better, David. We're rooting for you.
Did you watch David Cassidy on the Partridge Family? Was he your teenaged crush?
