Teenager Charged in Mom's Grisly Christmas Eve Murder

Heartbreaking 21

William AydelottThe violent death of a middle school teacher in Florida on Christmas Eve has landed a 17-year-old in police custody, and the baseball player isn't just any student. Police say Sharon Aydelott was murdered by her own teenage son in an altercation on the holiday. William Brandon Aydelott has been charged with premeditated murder after police found a grisly scene at his mother's home.

And I do mean grisly. The descriptions of the Aydelott home will turn your stomach, and it's hard to think of anyone that young having done something this depraved or for something this awful to have happened over the Christmas holiday, of all times.

Police in Gulf Breeze, Florida, say Sharon was found with a kitchen knife sticking out of her eye socket. She'd been beaten with a baseball bat, stabbed multiple times, and her throat had been slashed.

Cops have not released a motive, although the science teacher had reportedly kicked William out of the house recently, indicating there was some family trouble that predated an alleged Christmas Eve argument.

It probably didn't help that emotions always run high at the holidays. As much as we all like to think of this as the happiest season, crime tends to have an up-swing this time of year. Typically it's robberies and burglaries that occur as people leave their homes unattended for longer periods of time or carry large amounts of cash to shop, but domestic incidents often spike this time of year too.

No doubt the stress of the holidays combined with family members who don't necessarily like each other that much getting together is to blame.

Sadly, sometimes it would safer for families to forgo the whole "it's the holidays, we must get together" shtick ... getting together isn't always the best thing when tensions are high.

My heart goes out to the rest of the Aydelott family as they try to pick up the pieces after this holiday tragedy.

Have you ever seen family strife turn violent around the holidays? What do you do with your family for the holiday?

... okay . This is wrong. But I can't help but feel like this kids not the regular old perfect life kid who had issues and every one did what they could to help him. It seems like ( I emphasize "SEEMS" like) his mother was a cause of a lot of pain and suffering and he lost it completely on her. I know what it feels like to have a very uncaring parent that drives you to madness by how much they just don't give a $#!&. Include Trauma and emotional abuse and you will create a monster.

My husband cousin and his wife were arrested this year for domestic violence. The neighbors called the cops when they were fighting and drinking. We found out the next day and when dear cousin wanted to borrow bail money. Apparently his wonderful wife was so drunk that when she went before a judge, she decided to tell him a few things and instead of R.O.R like hubby got she got an extremely high bail for her charges and a court date in mid January. Also because they had their kids at the apartment when the whole thing went down they are not allowed to have contact with he kids through Christmas.

For you to even try to put the blame on the mother is shameful of you! There are things in this situtaion that the articles do not depict. For you to judge a situation, and to judge it on YOUR OWN experiences, without all the facts and then to broadcast your uneducated assumptions like they won't affect someone is cold hearted of all of you. Instead of being so judgemental on something you KNOW NOTHING about, try being a human with a heart and give your sypmathies and prayers to the ones who are close to this situation. I am ashamed for all of you who are so heartless -someone who is close to this family and situation.

I lived in this town almost my whole childhood...never had her as a teacher and was never in the same school as her son as I am four years older but I do know that this is a horrible tragedy and she and her family are in my prayers. As for her son he is obviously troubled and needs help I can only hope he receives the help he needs and that justice is served.

@rb it also was reported he was kicked out at 17 years old... i don't think he raised himself... she had a hand in her sons raising or lack of and he didn't go out and massacre groups of people, just her. Sounds like there were many Un resolved issues between the two and it is her job to figure it or try to get help before kicking him out. Not give up and kick him out while he is still under 18! If she couldn't handle him (obviously which had her hand in doing that) she needed to contact social services and have him placed.

Wow!  There has to be something very wrong with this boy's mind.  I wonder if he was on drugs.  I would think he would almost have to be high on something in order to do something that heinous to your own mom.  I wonder how he's going to feel when the reality of all this hits him head on.  Well, he's one kid that just ruined the rest of his entire life, if he doesn't end up getting the death penalty.  My heart goes out to the rest of the family though.  How tragic, and at Christmas time to boot.

Who decides that just because a woman had a child, that that makes her a saint or a good person. The ability to reproduce does not turn you into a martyr. I am not defending either side since I do not know the whole story but I don't believe he is the only one to blame. The world is full of bad people and every one of them has a family and a story. People push each other and sooner or later we all hit a breaking point.
