Four men have been arrested in connection with the carjacking killing of a devoted husband who died protecting his wife while they were shopping at a New Jersey mall. Dustin Friedland and his wife, Jamie, had just finished their holiday shopping at The Mall in Short Hills when the four thugs approached with a gun and tried to take Dustin's silver Range Rover. Dustin apparently resisted when he felt his wife was being threatened, and he was shot and killed. Even more sickeningly, all of the men were grown adults, most in their 30s.
Justin and Jamie had only been married for two years, and Jamie had described him at his memorial service as her "dream man" and "perfect man." She said of the 30-year-old lawyer:
I was lucky enough to be with him for the time we had -- his forever, just as he wanted it. He was my perfect person, my everything.
Absolutely gut-wrenching. These two were doing nothing but minding their own business and shopping when their lives are snuffed out and gutted for no reason other than that some subhumans decided they wanted a nicer car. In fact, the four killed a man for absolutely no reason -- they didn't even take the Range Rover very far, abandoning it about ten miles away from where they stole it.
Arrested were Hanif Thompson, 29, Karif Ford, 31, Basim Henry, 32, and Kevin Roberts, 33. They were charged with murder, felony murder, carjacking, conspiracy, possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, and are being held on $2 million each bail.
It's unbelievable that Jamie should be celebrating the holidays with her dream man -- and instead had to bury him. And they were in a safe place, at a decent hour, doing nothing but buying gifts. Horrible!
If these four are found guilty, they should never be let out, they are obviously an enormous danger to society. No doubt the four will point fingers at each other.
Excellent police work catching these cretins so soon.
