Attention Future Boyfriend!
Please pay attention, because if you someday want ask me to marry you, and you want me to say yes, then being sweet to my kids is probably the best path toward happily ever after.
Shana Warner’s boyfriend Jeff got it right when he not only popped the question to her, but proposed to her 6-year-old daughter Ally too. He got down on his knee, gave her a ring of her own, and asked, “Will you be my stepdaughter?”
Melt. Melty melt into a puddle on the floor. Oh, and Santa was there too, because of course this had to be the most magical day ever.
Shana got her proposal last week in front of family and friends at party last weekend, but they wanted Ally to feel included in their celebration. The couple has been dating for two years, and Ally sees her biological dad on weekends.
They decided to turn the mother-daughter duo’s annual ornament shopping trip into the big event. They visited “Santa’s Village” in Frankenmuth, Michigan, and Jeff made his move when Santa asked Ally what she wanted for Christmas.
“Santa was about to let her go when Jeff got down on one knee and asked her,” Shana explained. “She was in awe, she thought it was amazing. At first, she was just really overwhelmed and then finally she said ‘yes.’ She was so overwhelmed with feelings and that she was given something so precious she tried giving Jeff a dollar.”
Oh my gosh, could this story get any cuter? It makes this single mom’s heart flutter. We have kids. We are a package deal. There are men that may view the kids as baggage, and then there are the ones like Jeff, who view them as a gift.
Bravo, good man. I think step-fatherhood is going to work out just fine for you.
Do you think it's a good idea to include the kids when you decide to remarry?
