Traveling during the holiday season can be extremely stressful. There's the business of buying the tickets (expensive) and then there's actually doing said traveling (atrocious). You've got so much on your mind, that worrying about your safety almost goes by the wayside. Sadly, travelers on Sunday morning found themselves in a terrifying, and tragically for some, life-ending accident.

The Metro-North train derailed in the Bronx at, sources are reporting, around 7am. It involved up to 5 passenger cars total and as many as 4 deaths from the accident have been reported, though only 2 have been confirmed. There are countless travelers injured and being seen after by the over 100 firefighters sent to give aid on the scene.
At this point, what caused the derailment is still unknown. It is being reported that the trained derailed while going around a particularly sharp turn near the water. At this time, no one is believed to have been submerged in the water contrary to earlier reports. One passenger interviewed said that it felt as though the train was going faster than usual. This is awful anyway you slice it, but even worse when such tragedy strikes during the holiday season. Our thoughts are with the families.
