16 of America's Most Beloved Conspiracy Theories

lizardDid you know our government is run by a race of lizard people? You don't? That's because it's not, and that theory is mondo bananas. But 12 million Americans believe lizard people called "reptilians" run the U.S. government anyway. Oh my America! How did we ever manage to grow so many conspiracy theorists? It gets much, much worse, though. Wait until you find out how many people believe aliens exist, or that the government is controlling our minds through our TVs? You probably don't believe that last one -- BUT THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT YOU TO THINK. It's like we invented "You're not paranoid if they're really after you™." (Wait, we did, didn't we?)

Last year during the presidential elections, Public Policy Polling took a look at many of the conspiracy theories Americans believe in. And the results were staggering. Man, how do we even function as a nation? Oh right ...

I have yet to get an answer for this...why do people believe the Obama is the Antichrist? I mean, that goes way beyond someone not agreeing with his political views!

How moronically depressing.

I get that this is a "lol" article, I just don't think believing in extraterrestrial life should count as a conspiracy. Believing in UFO crashes or them being "among us" could easily be, but the odds of life existing somewhere else in the universe are overwhelmingly high. So just thinking there are some is reasonable.

Is it "people who believe aliens exist" or "people who believe aliens exist and are walking around Earth"? Because a belief in other life on other planets somewhere in space doesn't seem that crazy, it seems pretty likely. The belief that these other life forms are "hiding among us" is a bit crazy though.

Agreed with the above posters about belief in alien life not being a conspiracy - belief that they crashed here is.

Roswell was in 1947 by the way, not 48.

at least 3 of those are a possibility

I love how some people claim conspiracies from our government, but in the next breath will talk about how dumb people in the government are. It's hard to be an idiot and evil master mind at the same time, don't you think?

All I'm gonna say is this.... Don't quit your day job Adriana. The way you write doesn't do you any favors...

You know what I find disturbing? That you think it s perfectly fine to mock Christian's faith ALL THE TIME!!! We believe there will be an anti-Christ, although Obama does not meet the actual criteria.

People never went to the moon. I am one of the people that firmly believe this, and my husband thinks I'm crazy. haha
