It seems that one woman consumed a few too many Halloween spirits while on a pub crawl dressed up as an abusive wife and took her costume a little too seriously. Cristina Crespo, 26, and her 25-year-old unnamed live-in boyfriend were out drinking and celebrating Halloween in Clawson, Michigan. Crespo's abusive wife costume was matched with her boyfriend who was playing the part of an abused husband.
Many drinks were reportedly consumed, and then things turned sinister and Crespo attacked her boyfriend.
While at the Mojave Cantina around 9 p.m., the couple started arguing. The pair ended up behind the pub where Crespo lost control. Clawson Police Lt. Scott Sarvello said:
The suspect was screaming and repeatedly hitting the boyfriend with her purse. The officer intervened and she continued to be loud and belligerent and was detained.
After the altercation, a very intoxicated Crespo was lying on the sidewalk. She had a blood alcohol level of .19, which is more than twice the legal limit for driving in Michigan. Though the pair said they had a designated driver for the night.
Crespo has been released from jail after posting bail, but she has a hearing coming up. She was also ordered to stay away from alcohol and her live-in boyfriend. Guess someone is packing. I can only guess that this wasn't the first issue the couple has had but who knows. Did their issues influence their costumes or did their costumes influence their actions?
Now if only she would have dressed up as Fairy Godmother instead and put her costume's powers to better use. Stay out of trouble this Halloween, folks!
Have you ever seen a costume-gone-wrong like this case?
