Sometimes you wonder why some people become parents. In the case of a woman who was arrested for the most heinous crimes against her 11-year-old daughter, it seems to be for no reason other than to make money off the body of her young daughter. The mother from Steelville, Missouri, who is not being named to protect the identity of her daughter, was arrested for selling nude photos of her daughter to strangers she met online -- and, even worse, allowing those strangers to come to her home and have sex with the girl.
The mother reportedly sold countless nude photos of her daughter to men online, who would send her money before she emailed them the pics. Other men would come to the home she shared with her daughter to rape her -- I will not say "have sex" with her, because this is rape, pure and simple. Her own mother was allowing her daughter to be raped in front of her eyes. And she'd pocket the cash!
According to reports, the woman admitted her alleged crimes, which were discovered when one of the girl's school teachers found sleeping pills in her backpack. Asked where they came from, she said that her mother had given them to her.
I'm just going to go out on a limb here and guess her mother gave her the pills to keep her drowsy enough that she wouldn't fight back when these strange men came and raped her. Yes, the woman who brought her into this world, who should have protected her against these kinds of men, instead lured them to their home to make money off her daughter's trauma.
The mom is in jail on $50,000 bond.
This poor little girl. She spoke to a local news reporter, and told her she was "glad" her mother was behind bars. She said she wanted it all to come out. The girl's grandfather is also outraged, telling KMOV TV:
She's right where she needs to be.
But what of the men?! I hope they don't go unpunished. Without men like this, mothers like this wouldn't be able to have this kind of horrific business. What kind of disgusting pig wants to go rape a doped-up 11-year-old? Too many, I'm afraid.
The sad thing, if you find the men, very likely at least some of them will be fathers -- probably of girls about this age.
The mom faces up to 14 years in prison. Not nearly long enough if you ask me. The little girl will have to live with her mother's sickening betrayal for the rest of her life. I hope she finds the strength to recover.
Do you think this is enough prison time?
