Bride-to-Be Who Saved Child's Life During Engagement Shoot Knows the True Meaning of Love (VIDEO)

becki salmon saves little boy from drowningWhen you're planning your wedding, it's possible to get all-consumed by the process. Even if you have lots of other things going on in your life, you can end up with blinders on. And there are many times when it's perfectly acceptable for that to be the case! Like during an engagement shoot, for instance! But bride-to-be Becki Salmon knew she had to put that special, romantic moment with her fiance Matt Werner on hold when she saw a little boy fall into the Wissahickon Creek in Fairmount Park outside of Philadelphia.

Becki tells local ABC affiliate, "He was obviously struggling to get back to the surface. His head went back. He was bobbing up and down. I knew he was going under." That's when she knew she had to do something. Becki jumped into the creek fully clothed. She sas that even if she had had her wedding dress on, that's what she would have "been in the water in." Awesome.

Check out how the whole thing went down ...

Amazing, truly. It's nothing short of admirable and courageous how Becki didn't even think for a second -- she just did what she knew she had to to save that little boy. Goes to show this is one bride with a seriously huge, selfless heart -- and after this, it's even clearer just how much she deserves her happily ever after with that husband-to-be who knows (maybe even more than she does!) what a heroine she is.

How awesome is this?!

Wow, talk about right place, right time. Bravo to her, and thank goodness they were there.

I am curious as to how someone "fall(s) into the banks" of a creek since a creek bank is "The shoreline of a pond, swamp, estuary, reservoir, lake etc"

Bravo to the brideto be but the writer of this article needs to study basic writing skills - the child fell into the creek, not the bank

Kelly Grimes

I love how she says, "Once you're an EMT or Emergency Service Person for awhile, you don't think, you react. That's what you're trained to do." Yet the one that did nothing to save that pregnant lady having an asthma attack used the excuse that she was off duty and wasn't obligated to help. Smh. Some people...Thank goodness for this lady!

Parents only have to look away for a second I know that first hand, although I jumped into the water to save my own child. Thank goodness for this woman being there.@ Kelly Grimes Almost every parent I know has had a moment like this, that is why it is called an accident, the mom was in the watter right after the bride. Just because they were not ther that second does not mean that you have the right to judge people that way. It is nature to act when something like this happens, not just training.

thank goodness for her being there at the right time :)

And that woman deserves her whole wedding to be paid for. That is one amazing woman. I like seeing stories like this with happy endings and all :)

AWESOME!! It is amazing to see how some people just react, no hesitation, no thinking except straight solve this problem mode.  LOL Gotta love the emergency services people!!

It only takes a moment, and drowning is nearly silent.  Once the kid's head is under water, you never hear a thing.  This woman is a hero and I bet this child's parents are both dying inside at this near-miss, and eternally grateful for the woman who saved their baby.
