Charles Ramsay became an instant hero and celebrity when he helped rescue Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, and Michelle Knight after a decade of captivity. People lauded him and his straight talking ways, and wondered what kind of a reward he would get.
He graciously said any reward money should be given the victims, which just made us love him more. Still, many believed his good deed shouldn't go without some kind of reward, and now he's gotten the perfect one -- free burgers for life.
If you recall, he was eating a fast food burger when he heard screams. We haven't heard if the fast food chain offered him anything; however, local restaurants in the Cleveland area have banded together to give him a special free burger card he can use at more than a dozen area restaurants.
According to Cleveland.com, it's called the "Chuck Card," and there's no expiration date on it. He can use it any time he wants, as often as he wants for a free burger. How cool is that?
The idea came about after one restaurant created the Ramsey Burger. Then Scott Khun, owner of the Driftwood Restaurant Group thought they should do even more, and the card was born. He told the paper:
We want to honor our local hero with local food. He stopped his meal midway through to help those women. We're now making sure he has other opportunities to go out and fully enjoy his burger.
Good for them. Good for him. And man, I can't wait to see what Ramsey himself has to say about this.
Do you think this is the perfect reward for Charles Ramsey?
