Sarah Palin Fires Up NRA Convention With These 12 Awesome Quotes

sarah palinIt's never been a mystery what side of the gun control debate Sarah Palin lands on. She's made no secret of her family's love of hunting; her daughters gave her a pink handgun for her birthday; and perhaps most telling, her son Trigg's nickname is Trigger. So she was the perfect person to fire up the ammo-loving crowd at the NRA convention in Houston, Texas today. Sporting a pink lettered "Women Hunt" tee, she quoted Shakespeare (yes, the playwright) and Margaret Thatcher. Was that unexpected? You betcha!

Now historically, I have not been much of a fan of the one-time Alaskan governor, but her impassioned rant -- however misguided many may think it is -- just may have been one of her best. Check out Palin's 8 most inspirational quotes from the NRA convention.

  1. Buck up or stay in the truck.
  2. This is a fight for the future of freedom.
  3. We are here to celebrate and preserve not just our Second Amendment freedoms. This is about what kind of people we are and what kind of country we want to be.
  4. Instead of leaders who offer real solutions, we have leaders who practice the politics of emotion ... The politics of emotion is the opposite of leadership. It's the manipulation of the people by the politicians for the own political ends. It's not just self serving, it's destructive and it must stop.
  5. We have these tragedies like Aurora and immediately the question raised in Washington is what can we do to limit the freedom of the people, but its the wrong question.
  6. The [New York City] Mayor and celebrities are protected by their bodyguards with guns. It's the old, 'What's right for thee is not right for me.'
  7. When Hollywood glorifies violence with its movies and underwrites gun grabs with its dollars, it's helping freedom destroy itself.
  8. I want Trigg to grow up in a country that is exceptional and that is still strong, good, decent, and free.

What do you think of Sarah Palin's stance on gun control?

All catchy quotes, conservative talking points and pointing out the problems without offering the solutions. About what one would expect, considering the source.

Gotta love the gun clutching GOP crazies at their best!!

"This is about what kind of people we are and what kind of country we want to be."

Does anyone realize that these people are celebrating the FAILURE of legislation that would have required background checks for gun shows/sales purchases where more than 75+ firearms are present????

Wtf??? How is that impeding on ANYONE'S freedom, or how would that define our country or our people? If the parent of Sandy Hook were on Palins side, she wouldn't be bashing them or telling them "Too bad"... Sandy Hook REALLY HAPPENED Palin.. and the responses of the parents and the community were TRUE. You should listen to them before something happens like that to "Trigg".

background checks to buy guns already exist. Now tell me what criminal abides by the law?

NONE more laws are set up to criminalize law abiding citizens not to stop the criminal

please stop being sheep

Anyone with money can go to a website and buy a gun, so no background checks don't already exist. Laws are designed to both deter and penalize, this crap about how criminals don't obey laws so we shouldn't have any is ignorant and totally misguided.

I agree belongs2jesus!

Criminals do break laws, but that doesn't mean I want to abolish all laws and have rape & murder legal. I do think there is some value in a society having both rules, and penalties for disobeying the rules.

The rest of the argument aside (of which I do understand both sides, though I feel strongly about one), I don't see how "criminals don't obey laws" means anything at all, much less adds to the debate.

If there was a crazy people database Palin would be flagged.   lol

Taking her quotes out of context just makes an impression of incoherence.

I heart Sarah Palin and her love for America and her people! Wish the current 'present' in the White House loved America like that. :-( Still would love to see this freedom fighter as president someday!
