Travis Alexander Emails About Jodi Arias Show What Kind of Man He Was (VIDEO)

Closing arguments in the Jodi Arias murder trial are underway and it shouldn't be long before we find out if Jodi is convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison or even gets the death penalty. I suppose there's always the slim chance that the jury may even feel sorry for Jodi or believe that she killed Travis Alexander in self defense as she claims and acquit her. I've always said that no one deserves to die for being a jerk -- but, let's face it, Travis was not a stand-up boyfriend. Not even a stand-up man. He treated Jodi like trash. And according to emails unearthed by the Arizona Republic, even his friends didn't like it.

The emails, from Travis's friend Sky Hughes, paint a picture of a guy who was a "womanizer," and who was apparently emotionally cruel to Jodi. Writes Sky:

... just because you have never seen her cry, doesn’t mean she hasn’t been crying. SHE LOVES YOU, so much that she is afraid that bringing up anything that is bothering her or letting you know she doesn’t think you are 'perfect' would ruin all chances to be with you.

After Sky and her husband warned Jodi that Travis was a "collector of women" and to move on, Travis became infuriated. Sky responded with an email, likening what she would tell a sister about her friend Travis:

He doesn’t call her during the day, he waits until after 1 am (giving her what is left of him at the end of every day). He jokingly calls her a skank. He tells her to go out with other guys, but makes her feel guilty when she does. Thus keeping control, without having to give any commitment. He kisses her in the dark, when no one is around, and messes around with her, but won’t commit to her ... she loves him more than anything, and will do anything for him.

Travis denied he treated Jodi badly and told Sky that he "adored" Jodi. Never mind that he was seeing another woman at the same time. But Sky stuck to her guns and responded:

She was being treated horribly, you weren’t beating her physically, but you were emotionally. Travis, with love, you are a heart predator. You take great joy in making women fall for the T-dogg. You laugh about what you can get away with. It would scare me to death if my little sister liked you, in fact I wouldn’t allow it.

Seriously, if even your own friends are telling you that you're not treating a woman right, then you're probably not. I don't know what Travis's issues with women were -- he clearly had them. And I don't know why Jodi stuck around to be treated like crap -- until one day she snapped. And she did snap -- whether it was out of self defense or not.

Unfortunately, a lot of people -- men and women -- get caught up in the fantasy of what a lover or spouse can be and lose track of the reality. If Jodi had been able to get over the idea that Travis would change, or that she didn't deserve better, or that he truly loved her deep down, or whatever, none of this would have ever happened. But she wasn't.

Being a jerk isn't a reason to be viciously killed, but you certainly increase your chances of it. It's karma. What you put out into this world is what you get back. And Travis wasn't putting out much good -- at least with Jodi.

Do you think Travis contributed to what happened?

Travis was a jerk, user, controlling, nasty.  Jodi is a murderer.  There are lots of nasty, bad men out there.  Some of us find out when we're young and learn from it. I certainly did.  Almost all of us who have experienced relationships like this don't go on to murder the offending party.  She can play the victim all she wants, but she chose that relationship and stayed connected to him after it became painfully obvious what sort of person he was.  Instead of leaving, she chose to kill him.  He wasn't stalking her, he was afraid of her and wanted her out of his life, so it was not a self-defense situation.  Killing him may get her killed-the death penalty.  Way to go, Jodi.

It sounds like he played with her emotions, and called her names, treated her like a booty call, but that doesn't give her the right to murder him. She wasn't afraid of him, or abused (not physically anyway), nor is she suffering from PTSD. Why would she have driven all the way from her home in Cali to his home in Az, if she was in fear of her life? It seems to me, she was nothing more then another notch on his belt, and she was angry and hurt. Which I understand, but killing him wasn't in self defense. No one stabs someone 27 times, slits their throat, and shoots them in the head while they were in the shower and can claim self defense. There are pictures that she took accidently with her camera that show this. Plus, the way she has acted since then and that she threw the camera in the washer. That proves she knew what she did was murder and not an act of self defense. I love how she has changed her apperance to make herself look like she is nothing more then a meek, mild, poor little abused girl. She is a cold blooded killer. He did not contribute to his death. It doesn't matter that he treated her poorly, called her names, and used her for sex, he didn't deserve to be murdered. There are sadly many men and woman who treat the person they are with like this. They are awful people, but they too don't deserve to be murdered.

I agree. He may have not been a good guy (have a feeling Jodi just might have had something to do with that), but even if he wasn't a "good guy". It is still premeditated murder and I certainly hope she gets justice (i.e. the death penalty).

i think you are all wrong and definitley dont look at travis as a womanizer. not one man on this earth is perfect and you know what he may have used her as a booty call but if i recall a lot men do that. is that an excuse for murder? um no. and do i think he was a pig or a horrible terrible man whore? hell no. he was just another normal man and definitley deserves peace in his death. i hope they fry the bitch. she deserves the death penalty. shes the skank. SHE introduced HIM to all her sexual activites. she was the crazy one. and she was the one who horribley murdered this man when she had nothing left. PRE MEDITADED. i hope she gets death. i really really really do. and i dont hope that for anyone ever.

I think they are all wrong too she used him as much as he did her how is he a bad guy?  I think the lady had problems she needed locked up long time ago. How can you judge him all you are getting is her side of the story do you know when she pushed the record button to record the stuff she did what was said before any of this was recorded. You all should not judge Travis I get tired of seeing his name run through the dirt he is not here to defend himself that's sad you all are judging him when you should be looking at her pretty sad what if that was your kid that was in Travis shoes and people like you are doing what you all are doing running his name through the dirt because of some crazy lady......  He was just a young man i agree with M_Williams.

It is always the womans problem when doesn't leave a situation like this due to low self esteem. This article is laughable. Since when can you remotely justify something as crazy as this?

It seems to me that this Travis guy wasn't just your typical so-called jerk or player or whatever, which half the time that stuff is exagerrated about. He was an exceptionally cruel and sadistic person. Look at his facial expression, he looks like one of the biggest pieces of shit I've ever seen. I wouldn't simply call him a womanizer, womanizers are just men who want to sleep with lots of women. No, this guy got off on domination and humiliation of her. And she had such little self-worth she was willing to put up with it to get any attention whatsoever from this 'alpha' male. (Most women seek alpha males but wouldn't put up with this much emotional if not physical abuse.) At the end of the day *I guess* it's still wrong to kill someone who probably hadn't initiated any violence against her, but it's like Chris Rock said about O.J. and his cheating, gold digging ex-wife "I'm not saying he should have killed her, but I understand."

I think he met his karma and she will meet hers soon....she was just a vehicle to his demise in the long run...they both had to suffer until they are reincarnate.
