Jeff Bauman Jr. was standing at the finish line waiting for his girlfriend to pass by when his life was changed forever. Bauman, who worked the deli at Costco to pay off his student loans so he could return to college, lost both of his legs in the blast. But when he awakened in a hospital, he was able to talk to the FBI about what he saw.

Bauman, who is seen above being visited in the hospital by actor Bradley Cooper and New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, has been credited with giving law enforcement crucial details that helped them identify the bombers.

Boston was locked down on Friday as law enforcement searched for one of the bombing suspects, but that didn't mean kids weren't still hungry. The family of one little boy ran out of milk, and when Brookline Police Officer John Bradley found out, he showed up with two gallons to tide them over until the lockdown was done. Oh yeah, and he refused to let them pay him back.

An image of little Martin Richard, the 8-year-old killed in the blast, has gone viral in the past week. It shows him holding a hand-lettered sign that reads, "No more hurting people. Peace."

The boy's family has asked for some time and space to grieve, and people have given them that. But this photo of a painting on a bridge shows they won't forget the little boy.

Boston is a city that loves its sports teams, and New England Patriots Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, and Stevan Ridley showed that they love their city right back as they made the rounds of the hospital rooms of the victims to let them know they have their backs.

The Patriots' owners, the Kraft family, is matching donations for the victims dollar for dollar up to $100,000, and several of the players are kicking in their own money as well.

A photo of fellow victim Jeff Bauman handing her a Macy's bag containing a small birthday present has gone viral for what it represents: simple kindness in the midst of such tragedy.
