jesusJacquie Hagler was holding a lovely jewelry party for 15 friends in her Lake City, Florida home when all of a sudden, a burglar broke in. Derek Lee, 24, allegedly entered Hagler's home wearing a ski cap and bandanna and began brandishing a gun and asking for the ladies' phones and cash. At first, the women thought the invasion was some sort of inappropriate party joke, but when Lee allegedly pointed a gun at someone's head, they knew it was the real deal. So they started chanting Jesus Jesus Jesus Jesus. And the dude disappeared.

Hagler told local Florida news station, WJXT: "I stood up and said, 'In the name of Jesus, get out of my house now.' And he said, 'I'm going to shoot someone.' And I said it again, real boldly." She continued: "Everybody started chanting, 'Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,' and he did a quick scan of the room, and ran out the door as fast as he could go." Hagler then added: "I'm hoping this situation has led him to trust the Lord and turn his life around."

Think what you want of Jesus, but this is one brave woman.

Later on, Lee was later arrested after allegedly trying to rob a 62-year-old woman at a nearby ATM. According to the police report, the attempted robbery suspect, who matched Lee's description, ran into nearby woods after the potential victim started yelling at him. Zero for two, buddy.

I've gotta say, I have all these scenarios in my head of how I'd act were I ever to, god forbid, experience a home invasion. In one particular situation, I grab my child and dog and climb up into the attic. But the reality is, I'd probably just pee my pants. I definitely wouldn't climb up into the attic. That's not even possible in my house! And I definitely wouldn't, in a million years, think to chant Jesus. But now I have a new would-be escape tactic. So, thanks, Jacquie.

It's nice to think that the powers of baby Jesus and the Lord are what made this robber have a change of heart, but at the end of the day, this guy just didn't sound like a very good thief.

But, hey, if you ever are unfortunate enough to be in a situation similar to Jacquie, why not try chanting Jesus? Either the Lord will come helpeth, or you just might freak someone out enough to run off.

Have you ever been robbed?
