Casey Anthony just won't go away -- and now is coming out swinging against the people she owes money to. I'm guessing that since she was found not guilty in the murder of her little girl, Caylee, in 2011, she figures there is no reason she should have to pay for the court expenses incurred while defending herself. Why do I think that? Because yesterday she filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection in a Florida court. It's a convenient way to get out of her debt. $792,000 in debt.
It's really outrageous. She gave the courts and the police investigating her daughter's death such a ridiculous runaround -- she shouldn't be let out of these debts. She should have to find a way to pay them.
Her debts listed include:
- Attorney fees of $500,000 and costs for her criminal defense lawyer during the trial, Jose Baez.
- $145,660 for the Orange County Sheriff's office for a judgment covering investigative fees and costs related to the case.
- $68,540 she owes the IRS for taxes, interest and penalties.
- Court costs of $61,505 to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Her attorney, Andy Chmelir, did tell a CNN affiliate that she is distraught she can't pay her bills. He said:
To some extent she feels, she feels bad that she's having to have all these legal services provided to her and she is unable to compensate anyone.
He also said she would like closure. Well, so would those people that want justice for little Caylee. And to add insult to injury, Anthony made these filings the same day two of her lying convictions were overturned.

maybe you should know that she didnt hire him . HE chose to approach her and ask to be her lawyer. read all thfact instead of what the media throws down your throats.
She just wants all the money she will get for a book/movie deal to go to herself instead of the people who deserve it.
Of course she's in debt! She doesn't have a job, and she can't work anywhere because people will try to kill her. She also didn't graduate from high school. She doesn't have much going for her. She's estranged from her parents, too! She's still a person in our society, whether we like her or not.
Her parents know that Caylee died in Casey's care. Remember the 911 call that grandma made, "It smells like there's been a dead body in the damn car."
I go back and forth on things like this. There's no doubt in my (and most people's) minds that justice failed when she got a 'Not Guilty' verdict. But...if we go on to then punish her ourselves as a society then what is the point in having a justice system at all if we're not going to listen and accept the verdicts given? if people acquitted are still treated as guilty as the convicted ones? I don't like Casey anymore than anyone and I could take quite some glee in this because I think she's evil but then I just keep thinking about the above...
Never did I say she knew thought it was pro bono. All I said was that she didnt go in search of Jose Baez ..... Did any of you read into the case at all other than what nancy grace said or any other fame obsessed media person ??? Did you read the details of the defenses case or the prsecutions ????? i bet you didnt . ...... this society makes their mind up depending on the media NOT the facts. thank goodness the jury made their decision based on what the prosecution failed to prove . There was NO evidence of a dead body being in the trunk of her car. Many experts who specialize in that kind of forensics proved that in the case. once again you are basing your opinion on thoughts not facts .
She could be a phone sex operator or telemarketer.That way, no one knows who they are dealing with and she doesn't have to leave her house. Make this bitch pay,til the day she dies if need be...
