Amazing 3-Year-Old Saves Mom From Blazing House Fire With Only Seconds to Spare (VIDEO)

OMG 2

boy saves momIt's the third story in recent memory in which a child is responsible for saving a parent's life during a house fire. The first tale of heroism came from a teen in Georgia, then from a kid in Seattle, and now, a toddler's saved the day in Arizona. Tara Nicole Mitchell-Quinta was dead asleep Friday morning around 7 a.m. when her 3-year-old son woke her up. Tara, whose fibromyalgia medicine makes her an inordinately heavy sleeper, says that if it wasn't for her toddler, she wouldn't be alive today.

And, of course, the 3-year-old's description of how it all went down is brilliantly sweet and simple.

Clay ran to wake his mom when the blaze broke out and says:

"My mom was at the back. I saw the fires."

Thank goodness he had the wherewithal to get his mom. Tara says she doesn't wake up unless someone rouses her ... sounds like Clay knew exactly what to do. He probably followed his instincts to save his mom and didn't let fear get in the way.

And had he not gotten her, I'm pretty sure the worst would've happened -- by the time the fire department showed up after receiving the call a little after seven in the morning, there was nothing that could be done. The fire had totally consumed the house and completely burnt it to the ground. By Friday afternoon, Tara was left going through the pile of ashes that used to be their home.

Thankfully, Tara's two other children were at a school early Friday morning so all her kids are present, accounted for, and totally unharmed.

Tara's understandably calling Clay her little hero and something tells me that this quick-thinking little boy will get extra dessert, lots of hugs, and some new toys in the weeks ahead.

After all, when you save Mom's life, she kinda owes you.

Does your toddler know what to do in the event of a fire?
