Petition to Deport Piers Morgan for Calling Gun Nut 'Unbelievably Stupid' Proves His Point (VIDEO)

Eye Roll 51

Piers MorganWhat kind of person listens to CNN commentator Piers Morgan talk about gun control and then signs a petition to have him deported? Quick answer: An idiot. Plain and simple. Unfortunately, about 60,000 of those signed a petition to deport the host of Piers Morgan Tonight back to his native England for his comments on gun control.

Last week Morgan called guest Larry Pratt, the executive director of Guns Owners for America, "dangerous" and "an unbelievably stupid man." The exchange was heated (and hilarious), but it was also Morgan's opinion. Something he has the right to have. Yes, even as a British national.

In fact, Morgan's comments are protected under the First Amendment unless they're actually dangerous to our country. Let's face it, even though people are whining about gun control like they're losing their babies, it's not going to kill them. See below:

Pretty fantastic, no? Morgan, who knows about the petition, responded on Twitter:

I don't care about petition to deport me. I do care about poor NY firefighters murdered/injured with an assault weapon today.

This is the kind of thing that "unbelievably stupid people" do. Don't like my opinion? Then you can go back to your country. Well here's a clue (moron): Wanting America to be better isn't the same thing as hating America. And people who waste their time signing idiotic and hateful petitions are the ones I'd like to see "deported."

The man who started the petition claims Morgan "engaged in a hostile attack against the U.S. Constitution by targeting the Second Amendment." But guess what? The willful misreading of the Constitution on the part of many gun lovers is the real crime against this country.

People who insist that we don't need gun control after YET ANOTHER gun attack by a madman are the ones I would like to see deported. They represent the worst this country has to offer. And yes, Piers Morgan is right. They ARE unbelievably stupid. It's unbelievably stupid to fight for your guns after children are killed in a school. It's unbelievably stupid to sign a petition to deport someone for expressing his opinion. And it's unbelievably stupid to waste your time on hateful petitions rather than actually spreading more love or helping the grieving people of Newtown, Connecticut.

EVEN if you do believe that our Constitution guaranteed assault rifles, we should be focusing right now on love and adding more of that. Not on more hate. So congratulations gun nuts. Your petition only proves Morgan's point: 60,000 people in this country are, indeed, unbelievably stupid.

Did you sign the petition? Would you?

And why dont you guys in the media care about the "ghettos" being shot up every day or those mothers having to bury not one but two or three kids, because she lost her kids to the streets???  Only when it happens in lilly white towns does the media scream gun control.  Where are you Sasha when kids are being killed every day on the streets of LA, or Chicago???

Calling gun owners "gun nuts" is like calling a black person the n-word. Bigotry is bigotry and generalizations are generalizations as there are fare more gun owners than the 60,000 that signed the petition to deport Mr. Morgan and far FAR more responsible gun owners than potential spree killers.

Secondly collecting guns and shooting are hobbies that don't need any further justification, it's dangerous? So are cars, and drivers kill vastly more people than shooters, why not ban any vehicle over 100 hp? you surely don't need 500 hp sports car to get to work do you?

Thirdly, most crime is committed with small caliber pistols so banning "assault weapons" (misused, as technical assault weapons are, get this, already illegal to own without an expensive tax stamp that is mandatory on all "assault weapons") will do NOTHING to stop a single common crime.

Its funny that he says an assault weapon was used when no new assault weapons have been produced and sold to the public since 1986.

I saw that interview and was 100% behind Piers Morgan. Pratt is stupid. His solution to mass shootings is to arm every teacher in America. The solution to curbing gun violence is not to bring out more guns. All that's going to happen is more people end up killing each other on purpose and accidentally. I know guns are flying off the shelves here in Florida, and I hope these idiots are prosecuted when their kids accidentally get shot.

You're in good company Piers, I've had many people suggest I get deported for crimes ranging from obeying the terms of my visa (which the immigration monkey at the airport didn't understand) to mentioning that I find it cute when people talk about 1800 as ancient history. It's the first instinct of the bigoted and ignorant when dealing with people who can't trace their roots to the mayflower.

Wait wait wait. You rant about second amendment rights and how wrong it is to have Morgan deported for his opinion, then say you want people who peaceably sign a petition you disagree with deported? And then add a paragraph about how we should focus on love after you just called people stupid for expressing their opinion. All you've managed to prove with this article is that you're a hypocrite. And also, I personally don't care where Piers Morgan chooses to live, but the reason he's working in the US is that no one in the UK would hire him. He published photos intended to discredit the British army that he knew were fake in 2004. He got caught and they fired him. He can weigh in on Anerican gun control all he likes, but you can't trust a word he speaks.

Rhonda, I can trace my roots to the mayflower.  My ancestor was the first baby born on the Mayflower.

Actually, he's not protected under the Constitution because he's not a citizen. Our Constitution only applies to Americans. So that's a complete fabrication right there. Furthermore, the Supreme Court of the United States has upheld that the Second Amendment DOES include an individual right to bear arms. And until that same Supreme Court says that assault rifles are not included in that right, complain all you want. It's not willful misreading. The only people with the right to say what the Constitution means are those nine justices. And they have.
