Poor Kate Middleton. Her pregnancy has been anything but easy. After spending time in the hospital for extreme morning sickness, the Duchess of Cambridge reportedly collapsed from exhaustion as she prepped for an appearance at the Sports Personality of the Year Awards.
They don't actually rule or have anything to do with making laws, but everyone knows the royals have a grueling work schedule. They lend their celebrity to all kinds of processions and events and Kate is no exception, even in her delicate condition. No sir, the royal duties don't take a backseat to anything. But does that mean she runs the risk of following in the tragic footsteps of the princesses who came before her?
According to the National Enquirer,
Kate collapsed in a chair while she was getting ready for the evening. She was in so much distress that she could barely stand up. But she took a page out of the late Princess Diana’s playbook and soldiered on because she shares Di’s strong sense of duty.
We are all too familiar with the hell that Princess Diana went through. The dread and heartache were written all over her face as she tried to muddle through life as a royal. Yes, the public loved her -- she was called the People's Princess, and deservedly so. But she never quite fit in with the Windsors. Neither did onetime Duchess of York Fergie. All those rules and royal obligations seemingly pushed both Di and Fergie over the edge during their time in the Palace.
Of course, Kate seems much better prepared. Their sad and well-publicized experiences provided a great lesson for her. Still, it must be grueling. She has this intense sense of obligation that must be weighed against her own needs. “Kate would never do anything to endanger her baby,” the insider told the tabloid. “But when she says she’s going to do something, it’s important to her to carry it through.” Lucky for her, Prince William is the voice of reason. He reportedly didn't want her to go but she insisted she was fine. "He definitely sees a lot of his mother in her," added the source. Let's just hope Kate's fairytale has a happy and safe ending.
Do you think Kate should cut back on public appearances?

I think she should consult with her doctors about it. Seeing as how she already has had some complications, combined with her collapsing, maybe she should hold back until the worst is over.
Get well soon, Duchess.
I think it would be sensible and I think the Queen should encourage her to take at least one full month to just rest starting now. There's no point in trying to produce a future heir if she harms herself or her baby doing it. I read somewhere that they can have up to 400 events to attend per year, that means running around to several a day at times. If she really collapsed she needs to change that schedule and take it easy.
I'm no OB/GYN but I think she should have put on about 10 lbs. before getting pregnant. She just looks so thin...
I think she should take some time off before she *shudder* loses the baby.
I don't know if she even has a choice, But what I do know is she is having a really hard time and if she does not slow down something really bad could happen to the baby.
