It's every mother's nightmare. She drops her kid off at daycare, and a sex offender somehow gets a hold of them. Only in Massachusetts, there is no mystery to how John Burbine had access to children. His wife, Marian Burbine, opened a daycare center and employed her husband, even though cops say she knew that he was a convicted sex offender and had been the subject of child sex abuse allegations several times over the years.
Now John Burbine is facing charges for allegedly abusing 13 different kids at the Waterfall Education Center over the years. The kids ranged from as young as 8 days old to just 3 1/2! That's the sort of depraved thing that happens when you let the fox into the henhouse.
Police don't think Marian Burbine was aware of the alleged abuses, but let's get real here. There's ample evidence that pedophiles cannot be rehabilitated. It sounds like she put innocent children at risk just to make a few bucks.
The cops have so far only charged Marian Burbine with operating an unlicensed daycare (funny thing, that you don't tend to be able to get a license if you've got a pedophile working with kids). John Burbine, on the other hand, has been charged with 40 counts of aggravated forcible rape of a child for incidents that occurred over a two-year period at the daycare. Police say John Burbine videotaped himself violating these innocent children.
I can't help but hope this isn't the end of the charges.
Marian Burbinee may not have violated any kids, but that hardly makes her the innocent here. She opened a daycare with a convicted sex offender. That makes her nearly the monster that her husband seems to be.
Do you blame the wife here? Or is this all on the shoulders of John Burbine?

i'm calling BS on the wife. they were married for 20 years, and he's a level 1 sex offender stemming from charges in 1989 (per the original article). i have a hard time believing the man was brought up on sexual charges multiple times, including in 2005 and 2009, AFTER they were married, and they're claiming she couldn't or didn't know about the abuse. she knowingly and willingly put those children at risk. i don't think she should be labeled a sex offender, but she definitely deserves more than just a slap on the wrists for the 'unlicensed business'.
this man is disgusting. chemical castration should be his next step if they're not willing to take him out back with a bullet.
Is there no oversight of daycares in MA, illegal or not? Did the parents not ask for credentials? And who leaves their 8-day newborn with strangers? Yeah, Mr and Mrs Perp are to blame, but there's a whole lot of ignorance and dysfunction that allowed this to happen, and for so long.
Wow, Rhonda Veggie. You don't even condemn the couple with the daycare, just the parent. That is your brains stupid little trick telling you that so you can say "it would never happen to me". People do that all of the time. If a child is kidnapped out of their bedroom window, you say "how stupid to leave the window unlocked"..."that would never happen to me". I couldn't even read the whole story it made my stomach sick. Why with video does this man even get a trial? He's guilty simple as that and doesn't deserve to take another breath on this earth. Execute the monster, he's the scum of the earth. EVIL EVIL EVIL.
Okay, folks, this is about someone abusing newborns to toddlers, and we're more concerned about the parents? As for the 8 day old infant, we don't know the mother's story. Maybe she desperately needs the money, so much so that she couldn't afford the unpaid maternity leave because she has no support from the father of the child or her family. Don't judge someone until you walk a mile in their shoes....
Unless that someone is a disgusting pervert like this freak, AND his wife. She knew damn well of what he was, and yet opened a daycare center anyways. She is just as guilty as he is. She needs to rot in prison, and he needs to get thrown on the prison yard and the guards walk away for about 5 minutes. Cheapest and sweetest form of justice there is. Baby rapers are on the lowest part of the todem pole in prison. I hope some gangster kills the SOB.
