Seems like there comes a time in every adult's life when they have to sit down with their aging parent and say, "Please. Stop. You've gone off the deep end." And Donald Trump's kids? Their rumored stern chat with "dear ol' Dad" has been a long time comin'! According to The Daily News, right before the election, Eric, Donald Jr. and Ivanka decided collectively to approach their pops and ask him to curb his anti-Obama campaign. A source says, "The three of them ... showed a lot of respect, but told him he’s worked too long and too hard to build up the reputation he has. They understand completely he’s always been outspoken and that he likes attention, but this is too much." No kidding!
But Trump would have us believe this source was kidding. Because when the story broke, not only did his rep say, "They would never ever do that. It never happened. It’s simply untrue," but Trump himself immediately began scoffing about the reported intervention ...
On Twitter (of course), Trump called the Daily News story "dishonest" and said it's not in his kids' "nature" to criticize him. (Oh pleeeeeeeeeeease!!!) Then just to underline his point, he tweeted: "Hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving. But get ready, our country is in big trouble!" What a goon!
Well, my guess is that the Trump kids didn't really have the intervention The Daily News' source is yakking about. Because otherwise, Trump probably wouldn't be carrying on the way he still is. After all, even he isn't so self-involved and out-to-lunch that he would persist in doing something that his family sees as taking a toll on their reputation ... right?? Ha. Then again, maybe it did happen -- and regardless, Trump's just hell-bent on keeping up these delusional antics.
Either way, something more drastic needs to go down in order for Trump to really reel in his extreme Obama-bashing. Forget his kids. I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't until the media and the companies he shills for shut him out, he'll have no choice but to shut up.
Do you think Trump's kids are really embarrassed by dear ol' Dad's behavior?
