Pistol-Packing Mom Gives Flasher the Scare of His Life

OMG 21

gunIt's not every day you're going for an evening stroll with your child and have to confront a creepy flasher! But that's exactly what happened to a woman in Longview, WA this past Wednesday evening, according to local police. The 35-year-old mom, her 6-year-old son, and their dog were reportedly taking a walk near Lake Sacajawea around 8:10 p.m. when a man approached her "aggressively," fumbling with his belt and saying, “Miss, miss. Could you watch this? You need to watch this.” He then sat down and began performing a sex act, according to the woman. Ughhhh!

While I can imagine being totally freaked out and not knowing what to do when faced with something as bizarro as this, the brave mom took major charge of the situation -- and pulled a gun on the guy! She explained, "I put the magazine in my gun. I cocked it. I said, 'You need to leave or I'll shoot you. I’m going to blow your brains out.'" OMG!

The guy reacted just as you would hope/think he would -- by yelping, “Oh, [expletive]!” and running away. And after that, the woman sent her "well-trained Norwegian Buhund Hound" after him. Incredible!

Thankfully, the woman's son didn't seem too fazed by the unnerving series of events. She explained, "I had him turn and face toward me. I stayed calm. I didn’t raise my voice. I don’t think he knew what was going on." Whew ... Still, what a frightening episode to go through. And how lucky was it that she had thought to bring her gun with her?

Though this incident definitely proves that every woman should have some form of self-defense at her disposal. I'm not typically a huge proponent of owning a gun. Mace, pepper spray, some black belt moves, maybe. But clearly, this mom made the right choice when she did decide to bring her Ruger .380 with her to the lake. She said she'd never done that before, but she grabbed it on her way out the door this time, because it was foggy and dark. She also "just had a feeling." Well, there you have it ... Goes to show sometimes it really does pay to trust your gut -- and be prepared!

How brave is this mom?! Would you ever carry a gun with you like she did?

Remember this story and ones like it the next time you vote. If the candidate is anti-gun, vote for someone else.

A 125 lb woman is no match for a 200 lb rapist but many, many women have evened that fight with a gun!

There was a woman here last year who was attacked in her home by a serial rapist. She managed to get to her gun, and the world is short one rapist today.

Now, how many other women were saved from being raped because this one woman had a gun and used it.

Good for her!

A guy did this to me once on my way back to work after dark.  I had my keys out to go back in, lock up, and get some work done.  I was about 23 and he looked to be a little younger.  I told him to grow up and started laughing.  Not the response he expected.  He put it away and slunk off.  Not so sure pulling a gun would be required in a case like this, but why not?  What this gal did was pretty funny, probably gave him the scare of his life.  I don't live too far from where this happened, and there has always been an attitude of carrying out west.  Don't even try to bring gun control laws here.

She should have just shot him and put all of us out of worrying. What a weird pervert.

Ever hear the quote "I'd rather explain to police why there's a man in my home with a hole in his chest than someone explain to my family I was raped and murdered". Guns are necessary, open your eyes! This government is trying to take that right from us, and God help us if it happens. Everyone should own AT LEAST one gun.

Go mama! This woman should be an inspiration to all! You do not have to be a victim. You can fight back and defend yourself. So glad this story has a "happy ending" and hopefully the man will be apprehended.

Good for her! More women need to be like this. She knew to be calm, defended herself, while not jumping the gun *pun intended* and shooting him right off. She defused the situation properly. I comend her.

He just pulled his pecker out, not worth killing him over. She could have just laughed at him and told him to grow up. You don't need a deadly weapon to deal with a jackass like that.

Good for her. See this is why every citizen should own a gun. If the bad guys knew you were packing heat then they'd be less likely to commit a rape, murder, burglary or theft. Crime goes down when citizens own guns. If citizens cant own guns crime goes up because the bad guys know that the likelihood of the average person knowing how to defend themselves is low.
