Mitt Romney's 'Victory' Website Offers a Frightening Glimpse of the Presidency That Never Was

Mitt RomneyMitt Romney is the king of blind ambition. It may be bad form to kick a guy when he's down, but this is an important moment of self reflection for the Republican party. Romney's "transition website" was released to the public yesterday showing us an alternate world where Romney became the president-elect Tuesday night. Shiver.

The website in itself isn't so offensive as the notion itself. Romney was truly unprepared to lose, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. The Right truly fooled itself for the last few weeks, believing victory was the only option. Romney is rumored to have only prepared a victory speech. Concession wasn't an option.

Until it was. The fact is Romney wasn't "narrowly beaten." He was shellacked. The entire Republican party was shellacked. On his website he said:

I'm excited about our prospects as a nation. My priority is putting people back to work in America.

Guess what: Americans didn't buy it. As a resident of Massachusetts I can unequivocally say that Mitt the governor wasn't the same person as Mitt the presidential candidate. Maybe if he'd stuck with his core (or even had one), he would have done better. But the American people saw through him and that's what makes me so proud of this country.

Tuesday night was a huge victory for love. Same-sex marriage referendums were on the ballot in Maine, Maryland, Washington, and Minnesota. So far it did well in three of them and Washington was looking good. Amazing. It was a huge victory for women and minorities and everyone who makes this country such an amazing melting pot.

It wasn't a victory for the Mitt Romneys of the world. And whether you know it or not, that's a good thing for all of us. This country needs to evolve. It needs to change. Open minds are a beautiful thing. Acceptance and rainbow colors are what makes countries strong. That's where we are headed.

Old Mr. Rich Blind Ambition had to go. His victory website is a sad testament to a presidency that would have put us back in 1950. But Americans saw through his anti-choice, anti-gay, anti-poor rhetoric. They saw him for the opportunistic cynic that he really is, a man who set his sights on the presidency and didn't care what he had to say to get there.

America saw through that. His loss is proof that this country is great and that democracy works, and his "victory website"? Is like a sad relic from 1952. If they'd had the Internet.

Do you understand why Mitt lost?

Actually,  my favorite part is the comments because it is just always so ridiculous. And I think pupu, we are actually in complete agreement on this. I just find it funny when so many commenters say how dare the bloggers give their opinion.

All of you sound like sore losers who lost a game on the playground, all because Mitt " for the rich, hates the middle class and the poor" Romney lost.

Wow, some of the comments on here are truly saddening. America has spoken, they don't want a plutocratic theocracy for a government. Let's move past it and hope for a better four years.

"They were too busy spreading hate and fear, the Republican mantra. "  Uh, you mean like talking about the "frightnening glimpse" into a possible Romney presidency?  Procrastamom, that's like the pot calling the kettle black.  BOTH sides have spread nothing but hate and fear throughout this entire election process (campaigning for what, two years now?) and have said nothing about resolution other than bashing the other side.  Not to worry though.  Winners and losers will all start campaigning and spreading their hate messages again soon enough (I'm betting by Thanksgiving), so they and you can continue spouting off about the other side without accomplishing anything for the people they represent.  Obama and the Democratic party care no more about the People than Romney and the Republican party.  They only care about their seat--not the economy, not jobs, not healthcare, not gay rights or women's rights, not foreign policy (I notice you're Canadian).  It's just one big game of whoever has the most toys wins with no actual regard for the "collection" they amass.

I'm not going to comment on Mitt Romney or the election it's self... I am going to say that I think CafeMom should cool it with the politically biased articles. CafeMom should be neutral ground and like another member said many of Romney's voters are members here at CafeMom. Don't make a huge portion of your membership feel ridiculed. Article writer - go blabber on your Facebook about these things, not here.

LOL you righties are a bunch of crybabies. The better man won, plain and simple. Get over it. After all the lies and dishonesty from Romney he deserves whatever gloating comes his way.

Who edited this? "Romney was truly unprepared to lose, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary." There wasn't overwhelming evidence.  It was always like 46 - 49.   The final vote, as I understand it, was 48% to 50%.  2% is NOT overwhelming.

LOL @ you, poop, puke, & whine, or whatever your name is. The lies that the American people saw right through, of course. He is a failure. Deal with it.

It's amazing how so many Obama supporters blindly believe whatever comes from the left and their media.  The accusations agains Romney are ridiculous.  What did he lie about?  How do you know he is a mean, white racist man who only cares for the rich?  What's that, because MSNBC and Joe Biden told you so?  Just like the disgusting statement Joe Biden made telling a crowd that Romney was going to put blacks back in chains and make them pick cotton.  He seriously said that.  They know what gets votes.  That is how they have the black, hispanic, and poor vote.  They have been telling them for years that all Republicans are white, rich, racists and that Democrats only care about them.  Guess what, we believe in helping people, just in a different way.  We believe you best help someone by helping them become self-sufficient, not by relying on the government's entitlement programs that should be reserved for the sick, disabled, and people who are temporarily down on their luck.  It is not meant to be a lifestyle.  That is the core difference between the parties and Republicans are called racist because of this.

Whatever Nunya, maybe Obama is just the better, more sneaky lier and 50% of the country fell for it! I don't believe a single word Obama says when she says he cares about the poor - he is making people poor! I don't believe him when he says he cares about everyone in the country - if so, why push a healthcare reform bill that has caused many to lose their insurance because they can't afford it? The majority of Americans wanted reform, but not Obamacare. HE and his cronies in Washington didn't care and didn't listen to the people - they did what they wanted to do. And for everyone who thinks Obama is some huge gay rights champion...PLEASE! He only "changed" his mind about that a few months ago and has done nothing but say he supports the LGBT community. Talk about deception and lies! His coming out in support was purely a crafty political move! Guess you were fooled!
