Michelle Obama's Election Night Dress Was Exactly What America Needed (PHOTO)

Michelle ObamaLast night wasn't just a victory for Democrats, it was a victory for fashion-lovers. First Lady Michelle Obama -- unsurprisingly -- brought it when she stepped on stage with her adorable two daughters to join her husband -- the President of the United States -- for his acceptance speech. The FLOTUS wore a burgundy brocade Michael Kors shift dress, black heels, and completed the look with her signature black cardigan. The best part about her look? It's a repeat. Actually, make that a three-peat!

Michelle originally wore the dress in 2009 to a White House function, then again in 2010 to a ceremony in Washington, D.C. And now, crazily enough, on the night her husband was re-elected. The woman loves to recycle -- and I've gotta say: I love her for that.

Most women, probably myself included, would, you know, buy something new for such a monumental occasion. I mean, you're going to be on a stage in front of millions of people, your husband was just appointed the leader of the free world -- again. But not Michelle. She's classy and confident enough to say, "You know what? This'll do." (Of course "this" usually will do when it's Michael Kors. But still!)

Political views aside, you must admit: MObama looks great in this dress. And it really is the perfect election night attire. A little bit of patriotism (red), a little bit of social consciousness (recycled), and a whole lot of understated class. Looking forward to four more years of fashion!

While I certainly won't complain about not having to pay for a new wardrobe, this does seem like a very calculated move on her part (or rather her husband's advisors). I'm not sure it shows that she's frugal or just smart, but small budget cuts are certainly welcome.

Let's ignore the fact that most of the population wouldn't be able to afford a Michael Kors dress to begin with, let alone one to wear only 3 times....

Reepicheep, if Romney had won, would you be saying the same things about Ann Romney's red Oscar de la Renta dress that she wore last night? Which costs considerably more than Michael Kors? Oh the hypocrisy.

At least she wears clothes more than once, which is more than I could say about  some Hollywood celebrities.

Hey reepicheep, 'afford' is relative. Its all about what you want to spend your money on. And as price points go, Michael Kors is quite affordable on a Macy's clearance rack, even for a middle income self proclaimed cheap person such as myself. Also, what do you mean 'to wear only 3 times?' Did someone report that she burned the dress? Was there a sign on the back of it that says she won't be wearing it again. You are TRULY reaching for something to complain about.

If some of you think Moochelle has such great fashion sense, I think you need to view the picture of her getting off of Airforce One with the tight olive drab pants and her thong showing through with that oversized rump!

This country dosen't need the first lady to wear a pretty dress, it needs the economy to improve and unenployement to go down. Thats what the country NEEDS.
