obama on leno talks about trumpYesterday, Donald Trump dropped his "gigantic bombshell," which turned out to be a totally ridiculous blackmail-esque proposal for President Obama to release his college applications/records and passport applications/records. Doing his best Dr. Evil impersonation, Trump claimed that if Obama cooperated, he would donate $5 million to the charity of Obama's choice. It was absolutely insane -- not to mention utterly offensive -- and left most people rolling their eyes. And yet, somehow, Obama himself was able to take the nonsense in stride ...

Appearing on The Tonight Show last night, the President chatted with Jay Leno about the egomaniacal reality star's latest stunt ...

When Leno brought up the incident and asked Obama why Trump seems to have it out for him -- humorously likening the rivalry to his with Letterman -- the President responded:

You know, this all dates back to when we were growing up together in Kenya. We had constant run-in on the soccer field, and he wasn’t very good at it. When we finally moved to America, I thought it would be over.

HAA!!! Bravo, Mr. President. Amazing. That was exactly the amount of seriousness that Trump's stunt warranted. I gotta admit, it killed me a bit when the White House actually gave him the time of day and released the long-form birth certificate, which clearly states Obama was born in Hawaii! But this totally blase, good-humored, wink-wink reaction almost makes up for that. 

If Trump really is getting under Obama's skin or he's just plain fed up with the big mouth mogul's monkey business, you'd never guess! Then again, he obviously has much bigger fish to fry than worrying about a completely out-to-lunch proposition from a mad man.
