Michelle Obama Clapped During the Debate -- Off With Her Head!

You may not have noticed this during Tuesday night's debate, because you were too busy waiting for Obama and Romney to break into the scuffle shuffle, but at one point, the First Lady of the United States -- Michelle Obama -- had the audacity to put her hands together. Then take them apart. Then put them back together again. That's right, you guys. The woman clapped

But don't worry. Punitive measures are being taken for this act, which I think we can all agree is basically a form of domestic terrorism.

The truth is, the FLOTUS broke a rule. Well, sort of. Before the debate, there were rules both campaigns agreed to. And "no clapping" from members of the debate audience were among those rules. But, technically, Mrs. Obama wasn't clapping at something either candidate said. She was clapping when moderator Candy Crawly disputed Romney's claims that Obama didn't call the September 11 attack in Libya an act of terrorism, saying: "[Obama] did call it an act of terror. It did as well take -- it did as well take two weeks or so for the whole idea of there being a riot out there about this tape to come out. You are correct about that."

Did she technically do something she wasn't supposed to? Yeah, sure, I guess. (Even though she wasn't clapping at something her husband said.) But is this two-second clap from the First Lady seriously an issue? Come on. Have we really become that nit-picky and sensitive of a nation? Are we all of a sudden the most vehement of rule followers? And isn't a presidential campaign going on?

This isn't a left or right issue here. If Ann Romney had clapped, it would be no different. This is a non-issue. It's stupid. It's minuscule. And we should get over it. Like, now. There are much more important things to focus on.

Do you think this is an issue?
