Political Bloggers Go Toe to Toe in Google Hangout! (VIDEO)

Google Hangout

Ever wonder what would happen if Republican political blogger Jenny Erikson and Democratic political blogger Nadia Jones were in the same room together?

Well I have. And I pretty much got my wish today, moderating an election discussion with both ladies for our first-ever Moms Matter 2012 Google Hangout! As you'd expect, these ladies definitely did not see eye to eye! Check out the video after the jump.

Clearly, we covered a lot in a 30-minute span

From Mitt Romney's 47 percent remark to the latest polls on Romney's and Obama's standings to Ann Romney and Michelle Obama to media bias to the upcoming debates to foreign policy ... you name it, if it was in the news over the last few days, we probably talked about it.

I really enjoyed hearing the perspectives of Nadia and Jenny. They don't really agree on anything politically, so it was interesting to hear one blogger answer and then the other give her (radically different) thoughts on what had been said. And I was proud (and not surprised, actually) that both bloggers managed to keep it civil. I get so frustrated by the number of people who can't seem to deal with others whose opinions are different from their own. I like to think that moms have it in them to lead the way when it comes to civil political discourse. Jenny and Nadia proved it can be done!

This is only the first of several more Google Hangouts to come between now and Election Day. We'll be talking to other political bloggers in upcoming hangouts, and potentially other moms as well!
