Once upon a time in America, only land-owning men could vote. But then we decided that wasn't quite fair, so we eventually made voting the right of every citizen 18 years and older. But that's not the end of the story.
Ever since crooked politicians figured out that certain people seem to vote certain ways, they've been coming up with cockamamie laws that get in the way of those certain people from voting at all. Then they started telling us a big, fat LIE: They call it "ballot security" but it's really voter suppression. Voter fraud is nearly non-existent. And yet, an estimated five million would-be voters will be disenfranchised this year thanks to voter ID laws.
Here, let comedian Sarah Silverman explain it to you. NSFW WARNING: This video is sooooo Not Safe For Work. Put in your headphones.
Sarah's got a potty mouth, but she's right. We shouldn't let these assholes steal Americans' votes. If you or your Nana plan on voting in the following states, make sure you check out the voter ID laws there: PA, IN, FL, TN, MI, SD, ID, LA, KS, NH, or GA. Then do what you gotta do so you can vote. Check out LetMyPeopleVote2012.com for more information.
Still don't buy it? Let's hear PA State Senator Mike Turzai spell it out again.
Thanks Senator Turzai! I think you've made the purpose of these voter ID laws crystal clear. They're so NOT about voter fraud. Voter fraud is a problem that DOES NOT EXIST.
The end. I mean, what else is there to say? This is cheating. And I'm shouting it from the rooftops. Voter ID Laws Are Cheating! Don't let these guys, you know, metaphorically perform anal sex on you, as Sarah put it. Get informed and spread the word.
Do you know if you have the proper ID to vote -- as is your right?

Billsfan- Thats what I say to everyone IRL who complains about the ID laws.
You need an ID to do anything; drive, work, buy cigs and alcohol. Voting should not be an different. Show that you are a valid citizen and you get to vote. If you dont have an ID, sorry. Should have gone out and got one. It doesnt take too much effort to go out and get one. Drive down to your local DMV, give them your information, they take your picture. The only reason that this would be difficult to achieve is if you dont have proper identification as a citizen (ssn, birth certificate, etc.) and if you dont have those on hand... Well... Why wouldnt you? Hm. Which sounds more suspicious; having an ID that proves who you are and your rights as a citizen or lacking in any item that identifies you as a US citizen? I am going to with the latter.
If you can't do what's needed to get a photo ID that you need to have for 99% of anything in life, you don't deserve to vote.
VOTER FRAUD is cheating!
Furthermore, I think you should check the polls, you will find that well over 90% of people on both sides of the aisle support these laws. I think you should also check and find out just how offensive your filthy disgusting accusations of "discrimination" are to normal people.
And a quick google search proves that when you bleat "Baaaah! Baaaah! Voter fraud does not exist! Baaaah! Baaaah!", that you are telling a Big, Fat, LIE. Though, I see that the democrats are using their time honored technique of "Repeat the lie over and over again, and hopefully someone will start to believe it."
There have been four major court cases just this year where this extremely difficult to detect and prosecute crimes have made their way through the court system and produced convictions. (all democrats, go figure) Florida had to go to court to prevent the OWEbama administration from illegally denying them access to Federal databases to allow them to clean up their registration files, and they found THOUSANDS of illegal registrations. Minnesota is going through a similar fight now, having found close to a thousand, many of whom had cast ballots in the past, and estimate that there are likely 4000, though they still are fighting for the federal records to find out for sure.
BTW, what is it that most acts of illegal vote fraud always seem to go a certain way?
Question: If I said that I thought it would be a good idea to do that "dip your finger in ink" thing like they do in some countries, do you... er... "think" you would be programmed to bleat that that made me a sexist, racist, or a homophobe?
Could someone please fill me in on how voting worked before this election. Sincerely, I want to know. Do you traditionally take a voting card that you get in the mail to the polls and if you don't have that card THEN you're required to show ID?
In most states the rules for what is accepted are quite broad. Drivers license or any other government issued ID, voter registration card (if you register to vote, they give you one...) library cards, often student IDs, employer issued IDs, and in some states that do not require a photo ID, even a copy of an electric or water bill showing your name and address.
All states that have voter ID laws are required to issue an ID card that is acceptable for voting at no charge, and in a state where I used to live, they will send out a worker to hand deliver it to you anywhere in the state if you request it.
Any suggestion that anyone who is legally allowed to vote is somehow prevented from doing so by voter ID laws is a highly offensive bald faced lie.
There are areas in the US that have had massive problems with voter fraud, and it is indeed a problem. Though there have been instances when Republicans have been caught doing it, it is a crime overwhelmingly committed by the democrats.
Interestingly, last election a group called "ACORN" was attempting to create massive numbers of fraudulent registrations. The would get registration forms filled out one way or another, stockpile them, and then drop them off all at once at the last second. This made it impossible to verify them, so they had to just arbitrarily enter them into the voter rolls without checking them.
Guess what sitting president used to work for that organization in years past, and actually trained the people who were doing this!? But then Chicago is one of the cities that has had a particularly notorious history of election fraud by democrats going back decades.
