Voter, there's some important news from the campaign trail you need to hear. Now. Mitt Romney's running mate Paul Ryan may not be the man you think he is. In fact, it's looking increasingly likely that the man running for vice president is a small wooden boy whose father's name is Geppetto (no word yet on whether his conscience goes by the name Jiminy).
I know, it sounds so unlikely! But then, so do the host of lies the Wisconsin Congressman has been caught in lately. You've probably heard how he faked his marathon time? Now there's another whopper that's been uncovered.
The folks at Slate pored over the fitness-crazed Congressman's claims that working out with the P90X and (prepare as I'm about to blaspheme) skipping cake on his birthday has helped him trim down to just 6 to 8 percent body fat. But according to the experts they contacted, that kind of skinny only exists in elite runners. And as we've already determined by his not as awesome as he'd like us to think marathon time, Ryan is NOT an elite runner. He's not even a top college swimmer, who are fatties by comparison to the runners with a typical 9.8 percent body fat ratio.
So what does all this mean? Is Ryan a bad candidate because he doesn't have the same body as Usain Bolt? Of course not. Voters shouldn't be that shallow. But then ... neither should Paul Ryan.
Paul Ryan is a bad candidate because he subscribes to the Pinocchio school of telling the truth. He's been caught lying about the most banal things, at times when he wasn't even on a hot seat. We'd be foolish as voters if we didn't wonder what else he's lied about and where he might be casual with the truth in the future. Once a liar, always a liar.
This is a man who wants to assume the second-highest office in the country, to be a heartbeat away from the presidency as they say. I don't think it's too much to want to be able to trust the man who's in that seat.
Do you trust Paul Ryan? Will you vote for him?

Exactly Billsfan1104. All I could think about when reading this article was thatit was fine that Clinton lied about something serious and important while Ryan is being crucified over a race time? COME ON!

I don't honestly care that he lied, I won't be voting for him and find it insane that any woman would.
AniAngel - you realize that you linked to an article written by a liberal Salon regular that Fox featured in an effort to be "fair and balanced", right?
He could be lying about being male and I'd still vote Romney/Ryan over Obama/Biden. Because they suck that bad, and Ryan's level of fitness has got as much to do with being VP as telling the truth has to being a blogger.
WE HAVE BEEN "PLAYED"!
(or "trolled"?)
I was thinking of the mind boggling, monumental absurdity and hypocrisy of even attempting to make such a comparison. From this administration in particular, and the democrat party in general, all we see is lie after lie after lie after lie... every day, all day, on every topic.
And, if you want to revert to the logical reasoning skills you had as a preschooler, and attempt to invoke the "well, the other side does it too..." excuse, and then you have to scrap and scrounge... to come up with this?
Could it be that making folks think about that was in reality the point of the article?
Is Jeanne Sager a secret Romney/Ryan convert?
Are you kidding me? No blog on what happened to Mia Love but you write this, and want us to take you seriously. The biggest liar in the country right now is your President Ms. Sager. He either lied to us about being born here, or he lied to government money as an exchange student. Was he lying when he did his book tour and they said he was born in Kenya or is he liar now. Do you on the left have any idea how desperate you come across?
While this is a non-issue, I sure do hope those of you bitching and moaning don't expect Romney or Ryan to ever lie. Because I'm sure they already have. And I'm sure they would continue to do so if they were elected. I don't think any politician is capable of telling the truth all the time.
*That should say I hope you don't expect them to "never" lie.
