Sassy 77-Year-Old Dragged Out of Car by Cop Got What She Deserved (VIDEO)

OMG 31

sassy granny

When an elderly woman was pulled over for speeding and refused to show police her ID, the 77-year-old was dragged out of her SUV. The thought of some poor, defenseless old lady being manhandled by a possibly power-tripping cop may have your blood boiling, but don't rush to judgement.

The video of this dramatic traffic stop -- captured by both a dash cam and a tiny lens on the officer's uniform -- may have you rooting for the long arm of the law. You won't believe the nerve of this sassy, back-talking granny.

The trouble started when Lynn Bedford was pulled over for allegedly driving 66 mph in a 50 mph zone. Sergeant Gene Geheb asked for her ID and registration, to which she replied that she had a bladder infection and needed to go to the bathroom. He then asked her for the documents several more times, but she wouldn't give in.

"Just hurry up; I have to go to the bathroom," she said.

"Let me see your driver's license and insurance, please," the officer asked.

She declined many times.

"No, I want to see your driver's license and insurance, please, and then I'll listen to you," the officer said.

"I'll give it to you in a minute," she replied.

"No, you give it to me now, or I'm going to take you to jail," he said.

"Well, go ahead," she said.

He then asked her to get out of the car six times, but she wouldn't budge. Geheb is heard calling for back-up before tugging on the spirited septuagenarian. After a lot of struggle, he managed to drag her out and put the cuffs on. Ticketed for speeding and failing to identify herself, Bedford was later released and has since hired a lawyer. No word yet on if she plans to sue.

Either way, Geheb's superiors are sticking by the legitimacy of the arrest and I couldn't agree more. Bottom line is, she broke the law. If she had just handed him her license, she would have been on her way to a toilet in five minutes. Instead, she totally aggravated the man by defying his instructions -- which honestly didn't seem unusual for a traffic stop.

Good I'm sure they have bathrooms at the police station...

Self absorbed society at it's best. She seriously thought she could just get away with going 16 over the speed limit by stating she had a bladder infection? He stated he would listen to her AFTER she gave him the license and registration, but she decided that her wants and wishes were more important than the law.
I am so glad that this man had the camera's on him because other wise this woman would have probably been called a victim and he would have been considered a monster.
It makes me wonder how many times people aggravate police officers like this just to be able to sue them?
I hope she gets laughed out of court and that she gets at least a fine for the speeding.

Mean old witch!  She totally got what she deserved.  If she had been a young black guy, she probably would have been shot.

Well, she dared him to arrest her AFTER being rude and belligerent...and guess what granny?! Your butt got arrested. In the time she spent arguing with him, had she cooperated, the stop would have been over.

All she had to do is give the officer her information. He might have let her go with a warning after listening to what she had to say. What a mean old lady! she deserved to get dragged out of the car. she asked for it; literally! What did she think because she is a senior citizen that the law does not apply to her? Sorry granny but you are held just as accountable for your actions as the rest of society! I hate when people think they deserve special treatment because of who or what they are. I applaud the officer; he remained calm as long as he could and I hope if she does try and sue; a jury will find that she was in the wrong not the officer

If she had been 21 they would have said the cop was in the right so I don't see it any different that she was 77. It sucks but at her age she should know what to do and be willing to work with the cop not be rude and belligerent.

He did his job. We should all be held responsilble for our behavior regardless of age, sex, race whatever... He gave her plenty of chances to comply. My fully tattooed husband would have been pulled from the car a lot sooner than she was if he's spoken to an officer like that!!!

Stupid bitch needs to learn not to talk back to cops. Regardless of her age, she was in the wrong. And lawyers NEVER cease to amaze me with their assbackwards thinking & justifications. LOL

If a cop pulled me over when I really needed to pee the first thing I'd do is get my stuff ready to get the stop over and done with as quickly as possible. I know she was charged with speeding and refusing to show her papers but they should have thrown in resisting arrest too.

I think that officer did exactly what he should have done! I understand that she's an older woman but that doesn't mean that she's above the law or that she doesn't have to comply when an officer gives her a command. I get that she had to use the bathroom and was in a hurry but she just made it worse for her! Good for him for doing his job the way he should have!
