Bill Clinton's Long, Long Speech Inspires Some Funny, Funny Jokes (VIDEO)

by Sheri Reed on September 6, 2012 at 1:13 AM

Bill Clinton DNC speech 2012YES, WE CAN (talk a really long time!)No matter what side of the ticket you're on, there's one thing we can all agree upon. Bill Clinton's DNC speech was LONG -- 48 minutes long, in fact, nearly 30 minutes over schedule. Whoah. Of course, that was good news for those Democrats who love them some Bill and most likely not such good news for the Republicans who were tuning in. But no matter, we were all laughing about the way he went on ... and on ... We just might not agree on whether or not all that "on and on" was election-shatteringly genius or just a bunch of charismatic hooey.

Let's stick to the part where we agree, though. That the man can talk a shockingly long time. And then let's laugh about it by reading the best Twitter jokes that circulated about President Clinton's uber-longwindedness.

he has so much energy. should i go vegan?

Why do people care about how long Clinton's speech was? It was shorter than an episode of the Bachelor.

Democrats should have a big clock like the debt one at the GOP convention to measure how long Clinton speaks.

bill clinton met a witch that told him if he can give a speech for 24 hours then the curse will be lifted and he can be president again

They are going to have to Gong Bill off the stage.

Clinton could end this speech with "You know what, I did have sexual relations with that woman!" if he wanted.

Bill Clinton's speech is now entering its second term. #DNC

Clinton's still bitter the country didn't love his first long-winded DNC speech decades ago...sticking it to us now.

Clinton finally has his long-sought chance to be Obama's communications director.

Just in, a new text from Hillary: http://twitpic.com/arjrar

Hillary Clinton texts Bill Clinton DNC

What did you think of President Clinton's speech? Did you think it was too long?

. Please; I know the speech is long; but it spot on and he methodically goes point by point thru the case as to why Barack Obama deserves to be re-elected.  Watch it online -  Memorable line:  "No president, inlcuding myself, could have gotten us out of the mess we are facing in 4 years.  And guess what - fact checkers are calling it solid.  With the exception of a few minor stretches; it is dead-on  http://www.factcheck.org/  Contrast this to the convention the week before; and check out the fact checking on that group.  UNREAL!!!! yes Bill Clinton you are right; Paul Ryan sure has alot of brass!~

Botton line - Charlotte delivered, Tampa was a fail.  From the clown like primaries to their own talking to a chair convention; the GOP has shown us what they are capable of - and how they manage and it is not pretty!.  Thank you President Clinton!

Sour grapes. The ONLY criticism the Right can come up with about that speech is that it was too long. Not for me... I could have listened to him tell the truth for another hour.

No one lies like a Clinton!

I fell asleep during the speech, did the convicted perjurer and sexual harasser and probable rapist tell the good liberal sheep that they are supposed to believe that "War on Women"(tm) thing?

I can see how weak minded sheep who are easily swayed by a charismatic orator could be suckered by that "cult of personality" thing. He can tell lies that would ordinarily infuriate me, yet somehow it does not sound as bad when he tells them...

I thought it was the best Joke ever. but than again they also rewrote the beverly hillbillies song to describe the john Bobbit incident. very origional.

I have to laugh at you republicans. So what if Clinton's speech was too long? At your convention, you had Clint Eastwood arguing with a chair while the crowd nervously laughed and wondered when the people in the white coats were going to cart him away.

I could have watched Clinton all night. It's sad that with everything in the speech, all the criticisms and endorsements, that the thing you glomp onto to criticize is the length. Well, sad for you.

I listened to the entire speech ...there were lots of promises made to everyone ..but i did not hear how Clinton proposed to pay for all of these programs that he wants the governemnt to do .. if our currency gets devalued, all Democrats as well as Republicans will feel the effects ....

So in 2008 it was Obama- "Yes we can!" and now in 2012 we're at Clinton-"Nobody could've!". Nothing like having to drag in a guy you(Obama) called racist(Clinton) in 2008 to save your sorry butt in 2012. The speach was more about Clinton's record than it was about Obama's.... Anything to direct our attention away from Obama's failures right folks.... move along now nothing to see here, Oh look over there, a squirrel!

10 minutes into speech: "Yes we can! Four more years! Yes we can! Four more years!" 20 minutes into speech: "OK, we get it now..." 25 minutes into speech: "How long is it??" 30 minutes into speech: "Whatever, all I'm hearing is 'blah blah blah'. Please stop taking." 35 minutes into speech: "SHUT UP CLINTON!" 40 minutes into speech: "Ah, frick it..." *goes to bed*

It is truer Clint Eastwood was talking to an empty chair but I still felt as if it represented the empty chair we have now in the white house very fitting.
