If only I could give Sandra Fluke a high-five right now! As a fellow American woman, I've been fuming over the incredibly disrespectful, ignorant, and downright detestable comments Rush Limbaugh made about the Georgetown Law University student since that oafish blowhard called her a "slut" on the air back in February (for daring to voice her opinion that universities should provide contraception coverage).
Oh, how I've been fuming -- and waiting, waiting for the moment when Fluke would have the opportunity to make Limbaugh look like a bigger fool than ever (dang, that's a big fool!). Then, just a few hours ago, that seemingly endless wait was finally over. Sandra Fluke took the stage at the Democratic National Convention -- the very same Sandra Fluke who was accused by Rush Limbaugh of "having so much sex she can't afford the contraception" -- and wiped the floor with Limbaugh and the rest of his misinformed, misogynist kind.
It was truly a beautiful thing. If you missed it, I urge you to watch the video below (repeatedly, if necessary). But first, check out these 5 quotes from Fluke's speech -- a speech that's bound to make history in the best way possible:
1. "Many women are shut out and silenced. So while I'm honored to be standing at this podium, it easily could have been any one of you. I'm here because I spoke out, and this November, each of us must do the same."
2. " ... your new president could be a man who stands by when a public figure tries to silence a private citizen with hateful slurs. Who won't stand up to the slurs, or to any of the extreme, bigoted voices in his own party."

What regulation states that a religious organization cannot receive federal funding???
Yeah Littlefrog you are stretching it. You just want your way. We are talking about a CONSTATUTIONAL right and separation of church and state isn't there. The constitution trumps all. It isn't like its hard to go to a school that does not have religious affiliations, I mean come on. I don't care how much your birth control cost just like you don't care how much I have to spend to get pregnant. That's the point, you are suppose to handle your business and I'm suppose to handle mine. If you don't like the birth control plan of your insurance plan why not go and find a new one that works better for you. Its not like finding private health care is rocket science but oh yeah it WAS affordable before the little UN affordable act you love so much. I really hope you on the left don't get your way because I've heard the Catholic organizations would rather close than bow to Obama and that means we are screwed big time.

WAmom, this is NOT about catholic's religious objections, Georgetown faculty and staff's insurance covers HBC.

You can't take Federal Funds for one thing and turn around complaining separation of Church and State, we don't need to follow the law.
If they take the Federal government's money, they can follow the Federal government's rules.
Auto, so are you saying that I should pay for my insurance that I pay over 4000 a year for, and on top of that, the co-pays, the medicines and so forth and then be forced to pay with my tax dollars her birth control?? Do you have proof that the student insurance is 1800 a year??
