If You Liked Michelle Obama's DNC Speech, You're Probably a Republican (VIDEO)

Rant 48

michelle obama dnc speechIf you liked Michelle Obama’s speech at the Democratic National Convention, you’re probably a Republican. The First Lady delivered a speech that could’ve come from just about any GOP mom, even Ann Romney. Talk about integrity and work ethic? Check. Mention the importance of community and helping our neighbors? Check. Share cute stories about growing up, date night with your husband, and how tiring motherhood can be? Check, check, and check.

I notice that Mrs. Obama left out the parts about how women now have to work harder and longer to pay out the nose for gasoline due to Barack’s energy policies. That is if they can find a job at all. Women in the workforce have been disproportionately affected by Obama’s economy.

The stories about Michelle’s dad struggling to work and back every day while living with M.S., and how Barack’s grandmother hit the glass ceiling while working at a bank (must have been before the Equal Pay Act of 1963 was enacted) were incredibly touching. They reminded me very much of a speech I heard last week at the Republican National Convention by Condoleezza Rice. The former Secretary of State told a story of growing up in Jim Crow Alabama, and although she couldn’t have a hamburger at Woolworth’s, her parents had her convinced that she could become the president if she wanted to.

Michelle also talked about not playing by your own set of rules, a concept that Republicans have been hounding the Obama administration on for years. Between the Solyndra payouts, the Obamacare waivers, gutting Medicare, ending the work requirement for welfare, the leaked national security emails, Fast and Furious, meetings with lobbyists, hiring a former Bain Capital employee as a budget director ... wait, what were we talking about again? Oh yeah, truth, integrity, and not playing by your own rules.

We learned about dignity and decency ... We learned about honesty and integrity -- that the truth matters ... that you don't take shortcuts or play by your own set of rules ... and success doesn't count unless you earn it fair and square ... Those are the values Barack and I -- and so many of you -- are trying to pass on to our own children. That's who we are.

Because liberals are all about family values, you know. Except when they’re not. Like that time Barack Obama, multimillionaire and leader of the free world, refused to give $1,000 for his nephew with a chest condition to receive medical treatment.

All said and done, it was a great speech. Now if only the Democrats would only practice what Michelle Obama preached, maybe 23 million out-of-work Americans would have jobs, and the national debt wouldn’t be racing past $16 trillion.

People can be mean and clueless on the comments here, but whatever -- thank you for telling the truth!!

Thank you , Pinstripes4 & brandspanknnew! Demented republicans unite to become the world's most famous idiots of America! No one should waste one's breath in trying to convince the most hardheaded of individuals of their stupidity.

Did anyone else notice how the republicans cheat in everything they do? They even kicked Ron Paul out of the race because they didn't want 2 registered republicans to run. They'll stab your back in a second to try and get ahead. I wish Ron Paul was running instead of the overgrown loser Mitt.

Haha, since when do republicans help the community or even their neighbors? I thought they were staunchly against helping those in need.

I hate the democrat vs republican debate. It feels like you're (all) saying that only one party can be for work ethic, integrity, community values, and even playing by your own rules. You even said that these two women gave similar speeches. I don't think there would be so much hate for these speeches if you didn't know who the speaker was. Or maybe I missed the whole point of this article.

Careful Jenny. Your desperation is showing.

I must say I'm beginning to find it not worth my time to respond to many idiotic comments such as those of ChefLee and Liz. If you think that's what being a Republican is about, then no wonder you would say something like that. If that's what it really WAS about, I would post something like that too! Unfortunately, it probably doesn't matter what anyone tells you what being a Republican is about, because you won't listen or believe it, so I won't bother.
