If You Liked Michelle Obama's DNC Speech, You're Probably a Republican (VIDEO)

Rant 48

michelle obama dnc speechIf you liked Michelle Obama’s speech at the Democratic National Convention, you’re probably a Republican. The First Lady delivered a speech that could’ve come from just about any GOP mom, even Ann Romney. Talk about integrity and work ethic? Check. Mention the importance of community and helping our neighbors? Check. Share cute stories about growing up, date night with your husband, and how tiring motherhood can be? Check, check, and check.

I notice that Mrs. Obama left out the parts about how women now have to work harder and longer to pay out the nose for gasoline due to Barack’s energy policies. That is if they can find a job at all. Women in the workforce have been disproportionately affected by Obama’s economy.

The stories about Michelle’s dad struggling to work and back every day while living with M.S., and how Barack’s grandmother hit the glass ceiling while working at a bank (must have been before the Equal Pay Act of 1963 was enacted) were incredibly touching. They reminded me very much of a speech I heard last week at the Republican National Convention by Condoleezza Rice. The former Secretary of State told a story of growing up in Jim Crow Alabama, and although she couldn’t have a hamburger at Woolworth’s, her parents had her convinced that she could become the president if she wanted to.

Michelle also talked about not playing by your own set of rules, a concept that Republicans have been hounding the Obama administration on for years. Between the Solyndra payouts, the Obamacare waivers, gutting Medicare, ending the work requirement for welfare, the leaked national security emails, Fast and Furious, meetings with lobbyists, hiring a former Bain Capital employee as a budget director ... wait, what were we talking about again? Oh yeah, truth, integrity, and not playing by your own rules.

We learned about dignity and decency ... We learned about honesty and integrity -- that the truth matters ... that you don't take shortcuts or play by your own set of rules ... and success doesn't count unless you earn it fair and square ... Those are the values Barack and I -- and so many of you -- are trying to pass on to our own children. That's who we are.

Because liberals are all about family values, you know. Except when they’re not. Like that time Barack Obama, multimillionaire and leader of the free world, refused to give $1,000 for his nephew with a chest condition to receive medical treatment.

All said and done, it was a great speech. Now if only the Democrats would only practice what Michelle Obama preached, maybe 23 million out-of-work Americans would have jobs, and the national debt wouldn’t be racing past $16 trillion.

What's funny is if he did give his brother money he would be accused of supporting gang members, or supporting a womanizer so on and so fourth.

I love your article Jenny, but I'm gunna go pop some popcorn and wait for the fun to begin, because with all the Obamabots circling the waters today, it's sure to be an entertaining time in the comments section today, lol...

Or maybe he would be sharing with others less fortunate like he says we should do.  I do believe much of my tax money goes to people that I don't believe are deserving of a handout.  He doesn't have any problem being generous with our money.  Probably jealous and afraid his brother will make him look bad.

Thank You!

Why do you keep reiterating talking points proven false?

On gutting Medicare : http://www.politifact.com/wisconsin/statements/2012/jul/11/sean-duffy/wisconsin-gop-us-rep-sean-duffy-says-obamacare-law/

On ending working requirement for welfare : http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2012/aug/28/rick-santorum/Santorum-Romney-claim-Obama-ending-welfare-work/

You have a lot of great reasons to not reelect Obama. The fact that you are resorting to blatant lies that are highly publicized shows that you don't even care about truth and fact, just any bs to get your way.

A better post for today would have been regarding the terrible remarks Dick Harpootlian said about Nikki Haley.

I hope Lindsey will pay attention to the comments in this section and compare it to the comments on several of the liberals blogs.
