After Michelle Obama's wow-ing speech last night, everyone here in Charlotte is looking forward to what her husband President Barack Obama has to say tomorrow. Some convention goers had the exciting opportunity to hang out with the Commander-in-Chief a few days early, though, including us! Well, sort of. Meet Sandbama (as I've deemed him), the 15-ton sand sculpture of President Obama sitting downtown near the convention center. Holy WOW.
No no no, the president didn't commission this homage himself. Funnily enough, the visitors bureau for Myrtle Beach, South Carolina paid $30,000 to put up the sculpture, hence the "Vote Myrtle Beach 2012" button the big guy's wearing. Never would have guessed that one, would ya?

For the sake of my post, lets assume something right down the middle, and assume an average grain of sand weighs 11.8 mg.
1 lb = 453,592mg
453,592/11.8 =38,440
Thus, we will assume 38,440 grains of sand per lb.
The OWEbama sand sculpture is estimated to contain 15 tons of sand.
1 ton = 2000 lbs.
15 x 2000 = 30,000 lbs of sand.
Assuming 38,440 grains of sand per pound, that would give us an estimate of
30,000lbs x 38,440grains = 1,153,200,000 grains of sand in the sculpture.
1,153,200,000
A bit over one BILLION grains of sand!
By comparison, the National Debt is now:

A bit over 16 TRILLION Dollars!!,!!!,!!!,!!!,!!!
So, if you had one grain of sand, for every dollar in the National debt, you would have:

208,270 / 15 = an OWEbama statue that was 13,885 times bigger.
But wait! Is that FAIR? While is it inarguable that the debt is the fault of the democrat party, "only" $5,400,000,000,000 of that has been added since OWEbama became president, and had a democrat congressional super-majority.
5,400,000,000,000 / 38,440 = 140,478,668 pounds of sand = 70,239 tons of sand = 4,683 OWEbama sand heads!
Now, given all of that, how much sand would a person have to have in their head to vote democrat this fall?
