Man Shot After He Admits Impregnating His Girlfriend's 11-Year-Old Daughter

Twisted 1144

So imagine your 11-year-old daughter has stomach pains. You and your boyfriend decide to take her to the hospital. After some tests, the cause of the stomach pain is revealed: Your 11-year-old daughter doesn't have the flu nor food poisoning. Nope. She's pregnant. So, just as you're trying to adjust to this astounding news, your 42-year-old boyfriend asks for the keys to the car so he can run an errand. And he never returns. This story gets much, much, much worse before it's over.

When it turns out your 11-year-old daughter is pregnant and your middle-aged boyfriend suddenly disappears, it doesn't take a genius to put two and two together. But then the boyfriend saves you the trouble by calling you and apologizing for knocking up your 11-year-old kid.

And it gets worse. The man, Gregory Johns, then robs a couple at knife-point. There, he reportedly leaves a note also apologizing to the 11-year-old girl for sexually assaulting her.

And it gets worse. Then the guy breaks into the home of an elderly woman, and allegedly gags her and ties her up for 12 hours. He also calls his girlfriend and tells her that the cops will have to kill him before he goes back to jail. Oh yes, did I mention? He'd been in jail 10 times already -- on charges ranging from aggravated assault to armed robbery.

Eventually, the dude holes up in a hotel in Florida, where the cops find him. He reportedly comes out of the bathroom with a knife in hand, threatens the police, and they fatally shoot him.

While we're all pondering why this mother let her 11-year-old girl around her criminal boyfriend (because this is no doubt what everyone will focus on), let's consider some other facts: We now reportedly have an 11-year-old girl impregnated by her mother's dead middle-aged boyfriend. Who is going to say this is a blessing?

I hope the mother does what is right for this little girl for a change and that does not include forcing her to have her dead criminal boyfriend's baby.

What would you do as a mother in this situation?

@mleilanim: it's possible this girl hadn't had her period yet. I didn't get mine until I was 13.

Umm, @ AkashaGermaine... Did you miss the fact that the 11 year old was pregnant?!?! So more likely than not she would have already had a period (yes, I know it's possible to get pregnant before a first period but it is very rare)

Ii consider my self prolife but when things like this happen there is no way a right minded could think to keep the pregnancy!

Wow! As bad as this is you have to politicize it by throwing in a dig at a Republican who called life a blessing. SIck.

What happened to 'your body your choice'?  This little girl will have to grow up fast whether she has a baby or an abortion so she should get to decide what happens to her body.  I know a girl forced into an abortion at a young age.  She was fourteen and she tried to commit suicide three times before she was eighteen because of it.  She is an adult now and a mother that ended up marrying the guy that got her pregnant when she was 14.  His parents forced the abortion too, and now they don't speak to any of the parents, at all.  I know woman that have been raped that have decided to keep their baby and raise them.  My aunt did it, and her daughter knew her whole life how she was conceived and they've all been to therapy to deal with it.  You can not decide for someone else what is right. I am so disgusted with the Pro choice people that say you shouldn't force someone to carry a baby are now saying you would force a child to have a very invasive surgery that would result in the ending of a life and she doesn't get a say.

@wamom223 the very big difference here is that the part where the little girl gets to decide what is done with her body has passed. She did not get to decide whether or not she was ready for sex or ready to be pregnant. As the mom of an 11 year old girl myself I would have to say that in this instance I would make the choice to terminate the pregnancy and frankly I would not feel any guiltier than I would if I made her have a needed appendectomy or chemo if she had cancer. It is my job to protect her health as much as I can and my job to fix the things that go wrong inside it so she can grow up happy and healthy. When she is old enough to make her own decisions about sex then the situation might be different. But while she is still young enough that she has to be reminded to wear a bra the decisions are not hers to make. Bless this poor girl's heart.

So if the 11 year chose to carry to term a pregnancy in her 11 year old body what would she do for the duration of her pregnancy? She must be in 5th or 6th grade, she can't go to school 11 and pregnant. Does she stay home for 9 months? Who's going to watch her/teach her during that time? The mom is apparently a single mom, she can't just stay home with her or home school her and probably can't afford some sort of private school? This 11 year old LITTLE GIRL deserves a second chance that an abortion can give, the physical recovery time is shorter than a pregnancy. She deserves to spare her 11 year old body the trauma of a too soon pregnancy. She deserves to put it behind her with counseling.

Seriously? There are people on here who can ‘justify' in their minds reasons as to why an ELEVEN YEAR OLD rape victim should try to carry her rapists' child to term? You can even begin to compare the experience of an adult victim to that of a child's??

Adults have the emotional skills and coping mechanisms to help them deal with their situation. A child that young cannot have those skills, and no amount of therapy could ever change the impact it would have on her to carry that baby to term.

Being forced to have an abortion will always be a traumatic experience - more so if you got pregnant  due to your own lack of knowledge - like being too young to know better. Most women/girls in that category got pregnant via consensual sex, not rape.
