I bet Ryan Gosling was the last person Paul Ryan thought he had to worry about in his quest to Vice Presidential victory, but alas, he does. Because all dudes need to worry about Ryan Gosling. During a recent Ryan rally in Colorado (a Paul Ryan rally), a banner flew above that read: "Hey Girl, Choose Me, Lose Choice." This of course in reference to the "Hey Girl" Feminist Ryan Gosling memes -- and in reference to Paul Ryan's stance on abortion. Aggressive? Perhaps. But, really, can anyone oppose anything having to do with Ryan Gosling?
Rightfully, in the eyes of most women, Ryan Gosling can't -- doesn't -- do any wrong. He isn't just a good actor who also happens to be incredibly fun to look at, he breaks up street fights, he saves women from speeding cars, and he says things like, "It’s misogynistic in nature to try and control a woman’s sexual presentation of self." I mean ... he's pretty much perfect. You want Ryan Gosling on your team during a campaign. You always want Ryan Gosling on your team. You don't want him -- indirectly -- reminding female voters that he's a feminist, and you're ... not. I think when given the choice (not that choice), women will always choose Ryan Gosling over Paul Ryan.
It isn't an easy time for politicians. I totally get that. It doesn't matter who you are or what you do, you're going to get memed. Obama's been memed. Romney's been memed. Most people in Washington have been memed. It's 2012, and that's how things work. I didn't make the rules. It's just how it is. But this "Paul Ryan Gosling" political meme, as it's being referred to, just might take the cake. Maybe just because it has to do with Ryan Gosling.
Would you choose Ryan Gosling over Paul Ryan?

I would vote for him ANY FREAKING DAY. Yeah, he's a stand up gentlemen full fledged.
I don't even understand what a "meme" is. I like Ryan Gosling as an actor and he is very attractive. I also like Paul Ryan, who can definitely hold his own in the shirtless category, lol. Paul Ryan is pro-life but just because he is doesn't mean he's going to take away a woman's right to choose. First of all that would take an act of Congress and also would not be a good political move. Secondly, there are many conservatives that are pro-life personally/morally but understand that the government shouldn't be able to tell you that you can't have an abortion. People are too consumed with social issues and need to realize that if people don't have jobs, are losing their houses, can't feed their families or we have Iran drop a nuke, that things like abortion rights, gay marriage, won't matter. You will be using all your energy to keep a roof over your head, food in your belly and keeping criminals from taking what you do have.
I would choose him, but I wouldn't vote for him. His birth certificate would be a bigger issue than Obama's....fine young man is a Canadian.
Procrastamom, if you still reside in Canada, you could vote him into a Canadian office, unless he gave up Canadian citizenship.
So, I am totally going to base my vote on whoever the cutest celebrity says I should vote for.
Thinking is so hard.
Learning about issues is even harder...
Hell no.
In contemporary political usage is the democrats re-branding of what was once called the "Big Lie Theory". Repeat a lie over and over and over again enough times, and some of the weak minded individuals will come to accept it in lieu of the truth.
Other left wing Goebbelesque tactics include using celebrities to promote political propaganda.
LOL I just think it's funny. No need to analyze it that deeply. Conservatives are just gonna get all butt hurt about it. Waa waa. Politics aside, I honestly can't see why people find Paul Ryan so good looking. He looks like a goober.
TorranceMom - You are friggin' nuts if you think Paul Ryan is attractive at all, let alone more attractive than Gosling.
Guest 1 - ....I hardly think she's actually asking a serious question here on whether people will vote for Gosling over Ryan.
Guest 2 - You do know "memes" aren't strictly for left leaning people don't you? Most memes aren't even political.
Maybe Guest 1 and 2 are the same person.
@Todd - then we'd have to call him "Prime Minister Dreamy" :-)
@jagamama - everytime I see a picture of Ryan (and I agree he is NOT attractive), I swear his nose gets longer. Something about the Pinocchio effect maybe?
