At first glance, Paul Ryan seems like a promising candidate. He claims he has an effective plan in place to balance the budget, improve the economy, and get Americans back to work. The interesting part about his plan is that during his first one-on-one interview with Brit Hume on Tuesday, Ryan admitted, after waffling around the question, that under the Romney/Ryan plan, it would take at least 10 years to balance the budget. He couldn’t provide a clear answer as to what exactly the plan entailed; instead, he chose to attack Obama rather than provide answers.
And there’s more bad news.
Ryan’s track record promises to take a step backward for women’s reproductive rights -- a right that Obama, Biden, and previous administrations have fought hard to take a stand for. Ryan co-sponsored a bill that could ban in-vitro fertilization for couples trying to conceive. He supports banning many common forms of birth control for women, including the pill. And if that’s not enough, Ryan voted against the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which helps women fight for equal pay for equal work. Although the economy is certainly an important issue, protecting the fundamental equal rights of women is paramount. I prefer not to have a man, or the government, decide what my reproductive rights and options are.
Ryan also supports Romney’s plan to provide tax incentives for the wealthy at the expense of the middle class. Ryan supports a tax plan that would give our wealthiest Americans an after tax income increase by at least 8.7 percent. Under Ryan’s plan, people earning over $1 million per year would receive tax cuts of over $260,000 each year. We can also say good-bye to Medicare with Ryan in office and hello to a voucher system for our seniors.
Is Ryan a good choice for Romney? Only if you support a track record on radical conservative views on women’s health. Ryan likely helped Romney reconnect with our most conservative voters, but for your average American, Ryan promises to move our country backward not forward.

Thanks for reminding me of that HockeyMom I totally forgot all about the whole Wall street helping Obama get elected thing. You know what else I forgot is that GE is sending a ton of jobs over sea's and they were awarded a waiver from Obama care and their owner is chairman of the Jobs Council that has sent more jobs over seas than Bain could ever imagine. Sometimes it is so hard to keep track of all the crap the liberals are throwing. I love how they keep saying they know the conservatives don't educate themselves like their not the ones being treated like useful idiots.
@obamafan, I'm with wamom, your comment hurt to read. It makes no sense.
I did HockeyMom. The one where his mom was with him? It kicked ass.
They're also going up in the polls. WI is closer than ever now. YAY!!!
NONE of the candidates can get America back to work, there's no way that any President can fulfill that promise, more facts from the media need to mentioned when they talk about unemployment. They need to address the issue of Integrity with the candidates, Who will do the right thing, even when nobody's looking? Mitt Romney has made us suspicious of cheating on his taxes, by withholding the evidence that will verify that he has integrity, & we can trust him, but, if he's listening to lawyers, instead of the people, he's not being forthcoming & allowing us to trust him.
Wamon> You're the typical Mitt fan, ignore all the facts that are behind the facts, that Bush screwed up this country, more than any President in history, & the policies & laws that were implimented by him, are still haunting today's President. People need to look objectively, look deeper at a cause rather than pick & chose which information they want to give. Bush was the cause, it just happens to be that the effects are coming forward to this President, by default, not by choice, I am surprised that there are so many stupid people in this country that will vote for someone based on what they are promising, rather than based on their integrity & character. Obviously Mitt doesn't have integrity, he has failed to prove otherwise, there's no legitimate reason he would withhold the presentation of his financial history, except that he's aware that the people will see how dishonest he is. I personally believe that the people aren't looking objectively at the issues, they are voting based on their emotions, & I believe that there are other reasons that people don't want Obama back in office, & they are coming up with all kinds of excuses, accept for the real reason they don't want him in there. They are willing to set aside the lack of integrity from Mitt, to get rid of Obama bcuz he's black. Some people actually believe he's muslim, how much dumber can U get?
