Take a catchy hit summer song with a unique and relatively easy to recreate music video, throw in a hot presidential race where the incumbent has failed to live up to his pie-in-the-sky campaign promises, shake well with some spot-on, hilarious lyrics, and you get “Obama That I Used To Know.”
Sung to the tune of Gotye’s uber popular Somebody That I Used To Know, this parody pokes fun at Barack Obama’s failure in his first term to live up to the hype he promoted around himself. As the joke goes, “They told me if I voted for McCain …”
Once upon a time, it was all hope and change, and change we can believe in; yes we can, blah blah blah. How’s that working out for the nearly 15% of Americans unemployed or under-employed? Remember Peggy? Obama was going to pay her mortgage and put gas in her car … um, yeah, not so much. Gas prices are through the roof, it seems like everyone is foreclosing, and the economy is generally not fine.

It’s not surprising that many 2008 Obama voters are experiencing pangs of buyer’s remorse. The 2012 candidate is not the Obama they used to know.
Some of my favorite lines:
Because you won and then you cut me off, now your speeches never soar as high as unemployment, you took Obamacare so far, but you left me like a dog strapped on Romney’s car ...
Sometimes I think that peace prize winners shouldn’t have a kill list, but you dumped bin Laden in the sea, so maybe it’s all good, said you’d rouse my economy, your big package didn’t stimulate me ...
No I don’t need you to legalize, just keep the feds away from folks like you when you were younger, there’s nothing that you didn’t toke, but now that’s just Obama that I used to know ...
What do you think of the video?

I can tell who the author is voting for! Obama may not have lived up to the thousands and thousands of peoples expectations, or even his own. Failure is a part of life- it's a learning process. If people expected our country to be all shiny gold in 4 years after having 8 years of crapola, think again. Our nation is so much different than it was in the '80's, '90's and '00's. What worked then will never work today. If you don't believe so, image our country as it was back when it was first founded and go be a housewife somewhere where your voice isn't to be heard.
And I just read that Romeny is announcing her VP pick tomorrow. And the winner is........
I notice Jenny, that you frequently blame Obama for high gas prices, but when gas prices lower you never once come on here and say, "thanks Mr. President for lowering gas prices. Now I can fill up my huge-ass-gas-guzzling SUV for a few dollars less!"
Name a bad thing that happens: struggling economy, rising gas prices, religion, welfare, disease, famine, Nickelback, Syria, bad hair day and Republicans automatically say, "BECAUSE, OBAMA!!"
@Rob - I wonder which poor bugger has signed on for a cruise on the Titanic! Should be interesting, for sure.

Video is hilarious.
Romeny/Ryan - good ticket. Though Mickey/Minnie would look good compared to Dumb/Dumber, but I digress.
I voted for McCain.
I'm voting for Obama.
This is funny and i take it as it is meant to be taken. Promises were not fulfilled but then what president can really fill campaign promises. People need to realize that until we repent and turn back to God nothing will get better. People get ready because Jesus is coming back soon!
